Constantly falling rain since 8 o’clock. Have already shifted 60 l from the GH butts into the 200l but which was filled with 90l yesterday. The two GH butts are full again. Need to go down again and shift another 50l. The 200l will be full by then. Just inside 18 hours, not bad.

5mm rain overnight after another pretty much dry week. The forecasts show more rain today but at the moment it's just grey and still.

As it’s so damp and humid, I’ve put my tumble dryer on and the de-humidifier. After years of doing the sums re energy costs, we’ve decided that minimising humidity is worth a bit of cost. We are frugal with heating though.

Totally agree. I couldn’t get the washing dry yesterday that I had done Saturday afternoon and which started to dry in the sunshine.
Yesterday, I turned the heating on for an hour just to get rid of the dampness and dried most of it on the heaters.
It’s not worth saving money on one end, and the washing never dries and starts smelling. We had yesterday 70% humidity inside

The amber warning for rain fizzled out and it was mainly misty and very damp, but still. How could they get it so wrong?

Humidity indoors is 72% so I think the damp has come indoors.

16c in GH and 20c indoors. Heating is on.

                      Seems dark already.

I only have one water butt and it's continually overflowing. I only use it for GH watering.

                      :cloudy:

It rained from about 3 a.m. until around 5.30 a.m. and then cleared up gradually with sun for most of the day. Strong southerly winds that brought down a lot more apples but I couldn't pick them up safely until about 4 p.m. when the wind eased up. 51lb of usable windfalls.

Light rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow dry. So I had better take my brolly with me when I go out tomorrow. :rolleyespink:

I was woken up in the small hours by very heavy rain hammering down. We've had more on and off all day so I'm going to assume all 6 350l butts are full and th eground will be wet enough for me to start some bulb planting tomorrow which is set to be dry.

More heavy wet stuff on Wednesday - in theory - but the forecasters change their minds so often, who knows what we'll get.

Turned out to be a fairly sunny afternoon, and fairly warm, but I wasn't thermometer watching today.

Another dry, grey, calm day and feeling chilly, 12C/54F. It's been weeks since there's been any rain to speak of but the next 48 hours will change that.

Rain pelted down from midnight until about 1 this afternoon and I am dighted with all the free water.

We only got up to 17c 67f but the guessers say me might squeeze out one more weekend of low 70's f.

And more free water is promised tonight and tomorrow :)
