About 3cm of snow, temperature has just risen to 1 degree. Quite misty with vis down to about half a mile.
Just been brushing the snow off the bird tables and replenishing the seed. Birds are hungry this morning!

Still absolutely freezing cold here and a steady snow at the moment.

Jack has just been outside but came in again - he can't get into the shed as
    the locks are frozen solid.

That's a bit like me - frozen to the bone! Wish we had central heating but I
am told we don't need it as it's only really cold a few days at a time!
Anybody else not have central heating???

    Morning all.
Earlier around seven this morning there was a carpet of snow but now most of it's gone although it's still blooming freezing, I don't think I'm going to venture out today maybe just crank up the heating and stay nice and cosy.:gnthb: Hel.xxx.

Jjordie I don't envy you with no heating.I had enough of that when I was a youngster with all the nets stuck to the window in my bedroom and having to s c r a p e the ice off of the glass.brrrrrrr.

jjordie, when I was a kid we used to scr@pe the ice off the inside of the windows, but I don't know anyone who hasn't got central heating nowadays . I really feel for you :( :) and hope you can keep warm.

When I was a young boy my job at home everyday in the winter was to get up early and make a fire in the hearth in the kitchen. I became quite expert at building and lighting fires. Then I used the newspaper to 'draw' the fire. Health and Safety would have a fit about that nowadays :hehe:

My my, yersterday evening I flew back from Italy (where I was cycling without hat, scarf or gloves, with my jacket open), to a snowy and frozen Germany, where wind storms made quite a mess!!

North Italy was sunny and rather warm, but sadly brown. Autumn was very dry, and the fresh greenery that usually sprouts after the chocking hot summer months have passed, this year has only just appeared.
