    Minus 5 deg C

Been feeding the stove with bits of pallet and dog sticks since 6:00 am as we still haven't got the heating on.

A cold night, -4c but a sunny calm day ahead is forecast so a 6 mile walk around Arne should be good as it could be up a tropical 1c when we start!

Don't forget your sunscreen strongy :heehee:

The sun is shining but I doubt it will do much good for the hard frost on the lawn ... the sun never reaches it at this time of year  Think my lawn is going to be ruined ... no matter how many times I tell Ozzy *not* to walk on the grass if its frosty, he simply does not listen! :doggieshmooze: :nonofinger:

I was in the Observatory until 2.45am this morning and the temperature dropped to -7 according to the thermometers on the walls, but the skies were absolutely clear and the atmosphere was very stable so the Stars were not twinkling, which is ideal for observing.:yes:. I'd covered the car with a complete nylon cover and this morning the cover was totally white with a hard frost and crackled when i removed it, but all the windows were clear.:snorky: There was some cloud all day with a top temperature of 42f, no breeze, and it stayed dry. Tonight the skies have started to clear and the temperature has only dropped to 41f with a pressure reading of 1055mbs, so a High Pressure system is in charge at the moment.:coffee::snorky:

Another gloomy day with almost a complete covering of grey although the temperature was up again to 8C/46F. Tomorrow and the next week is looking good at the moment, so if the sunshine is here the frost probably will be too.

It started off gloomy this morning but the sun managed to break through around noon. Feeling quite warm at 8C/46F with no wind blowing.

Completely cloud covered skies, no breezw, no rain, and a top temperature of 46f. The temperature at the moment is 41f with a pressure reading of 1040mbs. The Garden Weather Station is forecasting rain within the next 8 hours.:dunno::scratch::doh::snorky:

Back to the sloppy weather at the moment! You need some frost to get the observatory going @ARMANDII. :)

I've had 3 clear nights, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday , Sheal, so I can't complain. Saturday night should be clear and possibly Sunday, but after that it's all down hill according to the forecasts.:dunno::snorky: So I've been having a great time until the early hours viewing the Orion Nebula, red Star Belegeuse, Sirius, Plieades, and a few more!!, but there's been frost and ice inside the Observatory.

Ah! You've not done so bad then and a couple of nights to catch up on some sleep. :) Yep, the forecast isn't looking good for the next couple of weeks but I think we've got off lightly recently with a good long autumn.

Is there no insulation in the observatory? I bet you've been dressed up like the Michelin man!

The inside temperature of the Observatory has to be around the same as outside due to the fact that when warm air meets the cold glass of the telescope lens it will cover it in dew and it's like looking through a fog:dunno::heehee:

I wear my thermal fishing boots, fishing jacket, thermal underwear, and my Mad Axeman's Hat, Shea
