What's your worst gardening disaster? Might cheer up Clueless!

Any chance of a picture of your tree please Simbad, Deodara holds special memories for me.

 

Well, I might as well confess that naively in 1989, I chose that tree to adorn the end of the grass by the path up to the front door. The door of a modern, detached house with a normal front garden - bigger at the back and backing onto woodland.
It grew, and it grew and grew into a most beautiful tree but I forced myself to read up on its growth potential.... What a crazy choice !! We removed as much as we could and put SBK Brushwood killer into the stump.
I still feel guilty when I see one,

Well, this year alone, the mice ate my first batch of broad beans, and i've just noticed the lettuces I started by seed are actually turnips! Doh!

 

Glad its not just me Jenny , I haven't dared read how big it'll get yet ,obviously better to remove sooner rather than later then,we have quite a large garden at a 3rd of an acre but can see by its growth rate it'll be too large even for that, I think the garden centres should put a warning on them, with todays smaller gardens who has the room???, they look just to pretty with those lovely weeping branches.
