WOW LOVE the colour! but I bet they only do that every 97 years!

I think its too early to tell what they are, just fat blobs at the moment, I will post pictures when they may even be remotely recognisable.

I love cacti too! My dad used to grow them from seed, and one childhood memory is of one of my friends accidentally knocking one particularly impressive specemin over, breaking it in two!

One of my favorites started off as a wee inch long tot, hitching a ride in the pot of a purple wandering sailor type plant I bought in a charity shop 6 or 7 years ago. I potted it on - and now it is overflows the 3" terraccotta pot, and delights me with vivid orange flowers annually!

I've finally shifted out a lot of the over-wintering stuff from the greenhouse, and stashed it away in other sheltered places, just in case..... so I can begin to be ready to prepare the hanging baskets :D

Still have to take down the old ones though, haul out the bits I want to re-use and chuck the other bits....

    Here are a few pics

This one shows a couple of cannas grown from LoL's seeds, 'Brilliant', and a couple of gardeners delight tomatos - on an old wooden trolley from my Aunt's house!

This one shows I've been sowing! That's part of one side - all the other sides (except the door, of course  ) have the same sort of range!

And here you can see I've nicked Compostee's idea about grow bags! There's a pepino in one side of the most obvious one, and a gardeners delight in the other side. Anyone guess what's in the other double bag? :D

And here's my purpose-built coldframe - using yet more scaffolding planks!

Yep, dendy, you really do look organised.
So your keeping going with the pepinos then, I think the other bag is growing two canes. :D
There must be a lot of building sites in Scotland missing scafold boards.

Canes is right, Pete! :D But there are 2 more little gardeners delight plants in there too!

Pal sent me a cutting this time of the pepino, so fingers crossed this time!

Those scaffolding planks have been great - Mr D made a complete staircase into the loft of the double garage out of them, plus 2 cold frames and my raised bed - and we still have a few.....

Thanks for the compliments, folks! Much appreciated!

BTW, in the big pots at the back left corner of the cold-frame, that's the climbing fuchsias, Lady Boothby - will report back on how they do. They're certainly looking pretty healthy now. I've had them for a month or so...... interesting idea, but I guess it would be best to grow them alongside an evergreen climber, as they'll look pretty bare for a lot of the year.

There are a dozen or so little pots with dichondra silver falls in there too, which I'm hoping will get a move on soon - they've just got their second leaves in the last week. I'd like them to be a bit bigger before putting them into hanging baskets!

KG,Love your greenhouse. This range seems to be in all the Garden Centres over here.My only concern would be in the beigger ones is how good are they against strong winds. Are those forget-me-nots you have in there? The other two plants look a bit like tomatoes...

Good on you though and I wish you all the best with your growing season [IMG]

Thanks Kandy! Yes, they are forget-me-nots, they seed themselves out every year and we have a wonderful show. This area had been cleared for the tomato greenhouse, berries, etc. Yes, 2 tomato plants, giant beefy ones, I brought them back from England a week ago, my cousin davris grew them from seed, so they should be especially good.

I think ours will be OK regarding wind as it is somewhat protected by the bushes and we have pegged the corners down. It is not overly large, just 2 meters by 70 cm and 150 cm high.
