Well I grow lots of very borderline plants and like to push the limits, but I'm warier than a lot that get their plants through one or two winters and then make the bold statement that a certain plant is totally hardy.
    So I get your meaning.

But onions, garlic, are pretty hardy, and the worst thing is the waterlogging you mentioned.

I hope for the best but prepare for the worst!
I can't deny though that our winters are generally very mild now.
I had roses in bloom last xmas.
That bush is near the house.
      Other plants have also changed.
My bluebells now flower in late march whereas years ago you wouldn't see a bloom until early May.
We had daffs in flower also.. against a south wall end of march.
It used to be fairly regular, (Glos)

      Crocus March
      Daffs April
      B'bells May.
      Things have changed.

        Morning
        Today I plan to plant;

        Snowdrops
        Crocuses
        Narcissus

All in containers, went a bit mad and have 132 bulbs, this is my first step into spring bulb planting :rollyeyespink:

Will keep them out of the dogs reach in the back garden and put some of that plastic coated chicken wire over the top to stop the cats getting to the ones in the front garden. I’ll position them all by walls or fences in the hope to provide some protection (if they need it). Hoping for some colour and interest through the short dark months and also some uplifting springtime moments (whenever Spring might be these days). Also if we do get a chance to move house they can come with us :)

Hot week forecast here next week, feels like Summer!

        Happy Sunday

          Oo-err!

Planted garlic on 10th using all the biggest plumpest cloves, couple of days later wondered what to do with the skinny little cloves that were left, so shoved them in a tray with compost.

Nothing happening with the main ones as expected, but the skinny ones have done this !!!

Shall I put them all in a big pot and cover the growth in compost or just leave them, I am very surprised what has happen, nature is full of surprises:)

          Thanks

          I'd plant them outside.
          They need a cold spell.

Oh.. they are outside, but I don’t have a planting garden as such, everything is in containers, I wonder if they will get cold enough?

We, like most of the country, are due cold weather from Wednesday so maybe they’ll slow down a bit then.

            Thanks for your reply @pete
