Yeah, hot summers dont kill them.
Sanguinea tends to go a bit dormant in summer anyway, I find

Should have repotted the Grand marnier, been in the same pot for three years, so it was struggling, but still got a couple of them.

I find they dont like excessive heat, but you counteract that with more water and feed.;)

Aye, they do tend to curl up their toes when left in a greenhouse without anything but heat for months on end.

Can't say I have had many bugs when I had them - they seem to be reserved for my plum tree, and my lilies........... and my dahlias......

See how yours go, and if you have one to spare in the spring, that would be lovely - but please do not leave yourself or your mum short. I am quite happy to buy them, after all what happened what happened with mine is just one of those things really. Thank you :)

Thank you :) I can't promise them bat poop, but I do use chicken poop for my lot so they should acclimatise. At this rate, I am going to end up with a forest of brugs

I would happily sit out there and just sniff.......... I have a load of barrels to one side of my patio that seem to have graduated to herbs this year, and we have really enjoyed them (not looking at anyone in particular @JWK!), but my year was devoid of blooms.

Whilst I cannot go to the lengths I used to, I am absolutely determined that I will have blooms next year, and I will sit out on my patio with a nice cold beer and enjoy them - and if that is a forest of brugs, I am a happy man.

Thanks for the offer Joolz. I have a mature sanguinea that I bought a couple of years ago and another that I grew from seed last year. They are very different in form. The older one is quite bushy whereas the younger one is one upright with no bushing. My wife wanted to keep both to compare flowers.

Just a word of warning regarding eBay, I bought a cutting of Grand Marnier which took a couple of years to flower and turned out to be something else. Firstly it was a cutting from non flowering part hence it had to grow a year and fork (they only flower above the Y fork). Secondly it was far too late to complain and return. Taught me a lesson.
There probably are good eBay sellers but also plenty of rogues.
