See you aint clueless at all are you ! I dont think for one minute that is being under the thumb, its common decency. If more people thought about how their partner felt aswell as themselves then I dont think people would struggle half as much as they do.

I do though think in our 'throw away' society ... marriage falls in that same category too for a lot of people. It seems it is no longer viewed as 'forever'. If it aint working, they cant be bothered to fix it.
