I'm lucky enough to have a few independent nurseries around here. Garden Centre group recently bought the largest (and crappest so no great loss), but the others are all useful for certain things (ie; one is good for unusual tender plants, another has a good range of herbaceous perennials, two more specialise in annuals etc), but more of my plants are now sourced as seed via tinterweb. It wasn't possible this year (work on the house and all that), but we do try to make the trek down to Hill House Nursery in Devon (160 odd miles) once a year, and I usually get to sneak off to Cotswold Garden Flowers (40 miles) a couple of times a year.
