I always invite them in and offer a cup of tea and a Roll with Black pudding
      They always refuse
If they are wasting their time with me, then they not be indoctinating some innocent who is feeling low (as they tried with my daughter when she was in bad times, millionairess to destitute in six months)

Many years ago there was a knock on the door when I was doing the ironing on my day off. It was the Mormons.

They were very nice, personable, people and asked if they may talk to me for ten minutes. I said that they were welcome to come in and talk if they didn't mind me carrying on with the ironing - so in they came. I sat them on the settee and carried on ironing.

We had a pleasant conversation and, after a few minutes, I said to them "as you're sitting there with your hands free you might as well fold these shirts whilst I continue ironing". They didn't bat an eyelid and did a good job of the folding. :dbgrtmb:

Twenty minutes ironing, everything folded, enjoyable discussion, (although we didn't manage to agree on much) and off they went.

I think the mormons have learnt your tactic Shiney, and now use it to help them to get into people's homes. Our local ones (two very lovely ladies) actually offer to help with the housework. As far as I'm concerned they are most welcome, but the wife is a bit uneasy about me being so keen to welcome two very attractive women into our house:loll:
