I think I will try it neat, I don't like the taste of ginger. I read an interesting little fact about the way whiskey is spelt, if the Country has an E in it's name they spell it with an 'e' if it doesn't have an E in it's name i.e. Scotland they spell it WHISKY. Well I thought it was interesting!!

Brandy is far superior both in terms of flavour and medicinal effect.

Yes, that is what I thought as well, so I bought a small bottle and drank some of that but for some reason it made me feel kind of agitated. :dunno: It was only cheap stuff though, Co-ops own brand.

Whisky ahh I buy the cheap one in Lidls,We have stinking colds/coughs at the moment. Take a tumbler /inch of whisky/dessert spoon honey/ half fresh lemon squeezed topped up with boiling water.
For drinking neat you cannot beat the single malt "Singetons" bit expensive, very smooth a real treat.

It's all from an old word for water, something like Uisg, but i'm not gonna google it at this time of night.

I've been in the Glenfiddick distillery. It's so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor. :) :)

For a cold, I'd recommend Armagnac. Tad dear, though.

Mrs T every christmas buys me a different single malt , it tends to last me most of the year, I drink it straight.
But i must admit some in the past have been used for stripping paint.
