Aphid problem has completely gone now. Stripped back everything and looks much better than my old picture on here. Going to tidy the whole lot and hopefully get raised beds in for next year.

        000966.jpg Hi,

They say keeping African Marigolds near the Toms help keep the aphids away, but to be honest never found it works.

Saw a tip somewhere that the Scaredy Cat plant was effective and for the last two years used several and not had any major problems on the toms, though could just be sheer luck ..?

Grows fast and easy to propagate and if frost free lasts though out the year.

Can still get the odd plant like a Fuchsia to get aphids, but they are well away from the toms.

IIRC ricky101, it's whitefly that African Marigolds repel. Marigolds self-sow in my polytunnel each year and there has never been a whitefly problem, so I tend to believe in that tip :)
