I know one is always on the nest so I will look into how long they sit and how long to fledgling.

If they only knew, but i am feeding them everday with dog food ,a soon as one sees me perches in the tree.

      incubation 20 to 21 days

      Fledgling 35 to 49 days

only lay one clutch of eggs a year

Fern, I have tried they have such good eye site as soon as they spot the camera off they go must be the light reflecting on the lens , sometime they pick up the food like I have hidden a cat underneath and that's in the middle of the lawn , I look at them thinking have they gone crazy ?

Hopefully there will be loads of delays in the decision making so the chicks will get a chance to fledge. I hope the trees are saved too.

            *UPDATE*

Sorry to say the planing application has gone ahead , I have tried to find the start date ? .

The good news, the two Raven chicks should be fledgling very soon as you can see them excising there wings everyday now. I don't know how the parents will react once the trees by the nest are getting removed as if a magpie/ seagull / buzzard get close , they aggressively chase them away.

The Council have incorporated in the plans that more native trees are planted , which is double to the amount that are to be removed supposedly ? , but as I have mentioned earlier the trees to be taken out are very established.
They have to a new wildlife survey before works goes ahead , something else no one can let me know when that will be happening either or who it is !!!!

I have spoken to my "Local independent Councilor" who has been fighting the case against the trees being felled also the nuisance of noise and air pollution it will cause over the summer months and going into Autumn.

What annoys me we create so much awareness of what happening around the world as in " Rain forest deforestation etc and just not concerned that we are loosing greenbelt/wildlife habitat etc in the UK all the time .

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that either joined in the thread or at least read it and also the "likes" it gave me the extra drive to keep pestering :paladin: and just causing more red tape for all concerned. WHICH I HAVEN'T FINISHED DOING

              Hi all,

The two baby ravens have now fledged sitting on the tree with one of the parents across the River today so that's a relief.
Plus they haven't started any work yet so hopefully most birds etc have nested and fledged in the area.

Thanks Fern appreciated all the support
