Ive given up on them Penny. I was genuinely disgusted at the Algeria game.

Wayne Rooney and his rude, ignorant remarks shocked me- Id drop him from the Slovenia game. His performance was woeful and having the cheek to say what he did afterwards is breathtaking. .

They are all so insultated from the reality of what their performance means to people. We care more than they do.
For them its about endorsements, dim but pretty girlfriends and superfast cars. And yet they are super sensitive to criticism- not enough to change their behaviour you understand, but enough to fume that someone would dare burst their self/ press inflated egos.

If I was on £160-200,000 a week, I wouldnt give a toss what anyone else thought either.

England selection should no longer automatically be selecting the 11 highest paid / most lauded prima donnas. Get men who dig deep and TRY for their country. Their capitulation against Algeria was the most shocking English performance in ANY sport, I've ever seen.

I think about soldiers watching from Afghanistan and Iraq, what must they have thought?

    /rant over :grr!:

Well that was some game, glad that England won.

Now waiting for the Germany game to start next.

I was glad that they took off Wayne Rooney, hopefully the next game will be better, or else!

You will have the game for you:
    England - Germany.
Germany, qualified as first one in group D, will face England qualified as second one in group C.
I am sorry for they will face each other so early in the tournment.
Sure enough I would prefer if they face in semi-final or final.
Unfortunately one of these two teams will be off.
I am very sorry both for England and for our friends the germans (here in northern Italy lake resorts and winter resorts they are always our very welcomed guests. As well as they are very welcomed in Milan Malpensa airport for they have based their airline company over here and they have got jobs for the airport workers ).
So, great sorrow for one team will eliminate the other...
At the same time, great interest for a match between two teams of great tradition (they also faced in the final on England World Cup 1966 and England won thanks to a "not goal". The ball was not completely over the goal line :old:).

Nice to see you, roders! Since it is the world cup, also those that are not into football (me, for example) will be watching it anyway.

I just hope that regardless of the result, we don't have the 'Nazi' and similar comments that most of the media (and sadly some of the population) feel obliged to use about Germany and the Germans. It amazes me that although WWII finished 65 years ago, there are certain segments of the population that seem to think it finished last week.
