He gets to end the call more quickly, which means he gets through more calls in a day, which gives him a better chance of getting his bonus.

No no, can't accept that, he didn't end the call I did, he wanted to help further by finding the number of Samsung for me.

People who work in call centres are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If the caller is not satisfied, they get marked down and miss their targets. If they take too long, they get marked down and miss their targets.

The only two scenarios where they genuinely want to keep you on the phone as long as possible are:
    1) Where the call rate is higher than the standard geographic one so that the company profits from you being on the line and
    2) In the 'customer retention' section where their job is to talk you out of leaving, so that the company doesn't lose profit.

Unless you got one of the rare ones who's personal principles transcended targets, which does happen. My mate got absolutely right told off for taking longer than the target 2 minutes to reassure a hysterical old lady that just because her bank card had been stolen and her account emptied, doesn't mean she'll lose anything because theft is covered and now she's reported it she'll get it all back. The old lady was apparently in bits, crying hysterically, my mate, had he chosen to stick to the targets, could have done his script and then ended the call, but instead chose to break the rules by continuing to chat to her until he felt sure she'd calmed down and was no longer worried. That's rare though, and he never did it again after he saw the dent it put in his wages for failing to meet his targets.

Don't know what to say apart from, put your SIM card into another orange phone then you will definatly know if it the phone or not.
I've never heard of this problem before
