No, not yet Shiney. But that's probably because I don't shop at Wickes......and that's also because there's not one on the island. :heehee:

I have lost track of this thread . I don't need to buy any MPC for a while , but at the moment is the jury still out on the quality of the new Wickes compost ?

Too early to say yet Harry, going by Scrungees post:

So there is new stuff arriving for this season.

PS: I think we are going to have to call the 2013 MPC 'new new' Wickes compost to lessen confusion

I had another look at Wickes this morning and their stack now consists of 75 litre bags and the wording on them (apart from 75 instead of 70 litres) is identical to on last year's rubbishy stuff.

The sign by them was one of those they produced last year for 70 litre bags and stating they weren't suitable for seed sowing (because it was incorrectly printed on the bags that it was suitable for seeds).

I then noticed that on the high level racking there were two more pallets of 75 litre compost and two more pallets of 70 litre compost. As none of the 75 litre bags had even the smallest tear I couldn't check it out and I'm not going to buy any if all they've done is increased the bag size.

Even if they have changed the recipe, it seems a recipe for confusion with the old and new both in stock in virtually identical bags.

P.S. Still 70 litres on their website http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/200246

          Thanks for update :dbgrtmb:

When I go past Wickes (don't expect it to be for some time) I'll pop in and see whether it is the same as you say. If it is, I'll get the manager out and interrogate him :nonofinger: :paladin: :heehee:

In my opinion I will not buy any compost or anything else from Wickes, complained last year by e-mail and have had a reply from them. Their loss of sales.

Is it worth asking Wickes to open a bag up, sometimes retailers will oblige. :)

And if it's OK, don't forget that Wickes do reduced prices for damaged bags.
