              Hiding amongst some snowdrops (without any snowy drops left) is this charming little plant - Creeping cinquefoil (Potentilla reptans). Looks and behaves like its wonderful cousin, strawberries, but sadly bears no fruit (just yellow, buttercup-like flowers) and it is definitely not something you want in your garden. :psnp:

                Two more than strawberries :snork:.

                A couple of customers who are inflicted with this brute had said they thought they were strawberry plants at first. When I said it's name, they looked somewhat bewildered/suspisious at the pronounciation of "creeping sink foil" :th scifD36: :scratch:. No wonder why though.

                But it originates from the French term cingue feuille (five leaf).
