Wild Flowers you have seen while out walking....!

    They used to grow it outdoors in Yorkshire, so probably as hardy as Lollimac.

      Wow a smashing walk there Aesculus.. Everything is so lush & green everywhere it is soo lovely to see the flowers like that.. I was just thinking the other day that the flowers are starting to wake up now..

        The seeds are certainly "hardy". I discovered them when I was packing at the old house - sow by date Oct 2006!

            So I should maybe leave these in the greenhouse this winter as they're only just germinating?

            I think "frost free" is what we're aiming at.

            Be interested to see how you get on with them, I had meant to grow some this year but what with all the other stuff going on didn't get around to it.

              Yes I would definately over-winter them this year in the green house & plant out next Spring once the frosts have gone for an autumn harvest.. Then next year you will over winter the crowns & plant out the following year once all risk of frost is gone & so on... :biggrin:

                  Good lord, I don't need to go that far to see ground elder!!!!! Soddin' stuff is in a bed at eye level right by the back door!
