              These little beauties brightened up a dull, rainy day last week when I spotted them growing next to the path in a grass and wildflower area at Studley Royal Gardens in Yorkshire.
              I have no idea what they are though, never seen them around these parts.
              Can anyone ID them?

                Just looked it up on a wildflower website, I see the distribution is; mainly in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Locally common in parts of England, but rarer in the south.
                Which would explain why I've never come across it before. :)

                      I went down by the river for my walk today....
                      Still very wet in places but all coming back to life after the floods down there..

                        The delicate blue of the Veronicas is starting to pop up all over the place now the ground has dried out a bit and the sun is shining upon them.. The purple of the dead nettle is a nice contrast I think..
