                @Zigs walked through 9 fields at Cogden this afternoon (in the heat + back again in one hour) and not a single Orchid, not even an Orchid leaf.

                Only Bugle (without any Orange Tips on it), had a camera ready for Orchid pics so had to snap something.

                  Didn't see any, only Buttercups, Bugle, Daisies, Toadflax and a solitary Cowslip.

                          Common Spotted Orchid, I've got 100's of these in the grassy margins around my plot where I stop the brambles from encroaching and strim it once a year.

                            Bee Orchid, I only found three but it's early so the will be more to come.
                            These flowers have recently opened and look very fresh.

                              @strongylodon yes we still have quite a few. That's why I don't mow the wild area until August, after the seed has set.
