Popped in today and picked up a spare cover (the tougher version) for my small "blow-away", that was half price, also picked up a couple of packets of seeds that'll do for next year half price..:blue thumb:

Their larger walk-in "blow-aways" are currently half price too; £20 instead of £40, not bad for anyone on a budget... :blue thumb:

Johnsons seeds now (have been for a few days) 75% off. Gravel trays, green cell trays and green (flimsy) seed trays also 75% off. Wilkos have now either been removing many items from their website when they get to 75% off, or marking them as 'not available', both being a clue to the reduction you'll find instore if they have any left on the shelves. I use their website to checkout what (most of) the reductions will instore, for example http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/search...rpage=12&_suid=133908770175106452602195204139 and for seeds.

It does seem rather early for reductions at Wilkos this year.

P.S. Some 75% off stuff gets left on the website for online ordering I saw on a bargain site a couple of days ago that Wilkos reinforced plastic cold frames somehow were getting multiple reductions applied and people were getting them for only 99p each at the checkout, but they soon went out of stock. They seem to have sold more than they actually had though!

Hi Scrungee, I was thinking the same thing, don't remember it being this early last year; I posted on GC Facebook a couple of days ago when our store changed to 75% off and stocks were quickly wiped out. Not surprised really cause many of the seeds could still be sown now..

I managed to get some seeds to pop in the fridge for next year. The 'Cloche Greenhouse' above with the plain plastic cover was down to £3 in our store having previously been on sale for £12, the 'Tomato Greenhouse' was the same too..

Seems a little odd that a lot of stuff is still full price and yet they seem to want to clear out other items that are still "in season" if you like...:what:

The latest to go on sale at our store was plants; young japanese maples etc in 8/9cm pots now 50% off...

I managed to get loads of those 24x cell trays together with matching seed trays reduced instore by 75% off, which gets them down to slightly less than 20p for the cell insert complete with matching tray which makes them affordable to use for fund raising plant sales. Also got a fist full of Johnsons seeds with 2014 sow by dates.

P.S. By googling found out Wikos seeds went down to 75% off on 22nd June last year and the final clear out when all gardening stuff started to be reduced was 21st September.

My local garden centre discounts seeds to 50p-per-packet around August Bank holiday (and they do a 50% off some period before that) - which is fine, I buy up for next year, but it strikes me that anyone prepared to do a mega discount early enough will clear all their stock, whereas my local garden centre only manages to shift "most" of it, so there is a cost-benefit-calculation in there somewhere!

I bought two Wilko Tomato Growhouses for our community allotment - 75% off, so £2.75 each - bargain or what?

Tescos had those @ £3.24 for 3 (so £1.08 each) a while ago when gardening stuff was on 'double up', so bought a few as they had 33% extra, the same as illustrated on Wilkos webite which is still showing them @ £2.98 each Westland MPC at WilkinsonPlus

Did the ones reduced instore for 75p have 27 litres in them? If so that's seriously cheap.

Well I thought I'd got lucky in my local Wilkos yesterday, I got the remaining dozen bags of Westland MPC with 33% extra marked as 75% off (or so I thought), but when I got to the check-out they were not actually in the sale

Not gardening stuff, but if you're in Wilkos check out their 'greetings cards' as they've reduced them all to 25p each (but for some reason there were a couple still full price - I think they were Fathers Day and Thank You Teacher). Loads of their stationery items are also reduced to 25p each - apparently they are about to introduce a new range.

I remember when they changed the packaging on their range of tools/accessories and I got masses of jigsaw blade double packs for 39p each - essential items for dismantling pallets for timber/kindling.

I was in Wilko's today. They were offering None-Stop Begonia's for £3.50 each.
I got 4 from the local Nursery for £3.50 a month ago - similar size.
