Went to my local branch today and there was pretty much nothing left. It is a small store, just frustrating as I wanted some trellises - there were 5-6 left on Friday - but couldn't buy them as I didn't have my car. Went back today and there were none left!

I did pick up a 20L bag of Vermiculite for £1 so it wasn't all bad.

        Don't tempt me Pam!

You have to be quick Ben :frown: realised this when the first lot of reductions went on as I wanted more shelving for my shed.

They do seem to have had all their reduced stuff stripped from stores very quickly this year. Glad I called into a Wilkos last Thursday, but @Linz that was based on years of experience, having a read back through this thread after the growing season's over will give you a good idea when reductions occur.

I seem to have missed reduced plant labels this year, but have today discovered 7 x 50 label packs I bought last year and then mislaid. Sprayers also seem to have disappeared before I saw them as reduced, but there's a lot of stuff where the price labels haven't been updated.

Today, as there was no compost left, I concentrated on getting some 75% off 'chicken mesh' to use as anti-rabbit fencing, if they don't have any 900mm high fencing (£3 for 10m), buy 600mm high (£1.25 for 10m) then lace them together with reduced wire costing 12.5p, higher fencing for lower cost.

Yeah, agreed, you have to be quick. Sometimes it's a bit of a gamble though whether to get stuff you definitely need when it's 50% off, or wait to see if there's some on final clearance prices. My mother is not as well trained as I thought she was.....waited a full 24 hrs to tell me that the seeds were down to 10/50p. Of course when I got there many varieties had already gone.

All the runner beans, peas and sunflowers were gone from one shop! My local put all the seeds into a bin.. quite miffed about that as I had to pull hand fulls out and sit on the floor to go through them.

Tell them off @Anthony Rogers ! I'm sure if you went to the till the price would be the same as elsewhere (if its anything like Tesco it should be nationwide and/or honoured if it's a different price elsewhere, unless it's display model/defected) or better still get a lovely pda holding assistant and drag them round to price check everything with you.

Finally found some tomato feed, 1L bottles reduced to 25p, got 12 to add to my stockpile.

Ant powder also reduced to 25p.

This was in the last where a week ago I bought BF&B plus Growmore at 50% off, noticed today it's back to full price.

I find the liquid feed doesn't keep too well. You get a sludge at the bottom that presumably is very rich in certain nutrients. Mind you, I waited til my tommies are a decent size before giving them that, and I've never actually killed one as a result. Also, I'm sulking as when my local store had that on final clearance, I didn't have any transport.

The Wilko in my nearest city has pretty much got rid of all its garden stuff, with just things at full price that they are presumably keeping in stock, and a load of plastic hose bits on final clearance. They have replaced the aisles with student living and Halloween stuff.

Back in my local store, the tools and feed are mostly back up to full price. I bought a giant tin of Cuprinol timber treatment £4.50, 1kg packs of Miracle Grow slow release granules £1.25, solid phosphate and rose food at £1, tasteful outdoor fairy lights, own brand solid plant food that's rich in potassium, a few more fibre pots and a watering can rose. Couldn't carry the 8ft canes though (75p for 10). Will go back tomorrow for them. Also picked up some kids outdoor stuff that was on final clearance...hopefully they'll let me play with their giant bubble wands.

Just sewn 2 rolls of reduced sturdy square netting (5m x 0.94m @ 25p) together to put over my old reduced cloche (£2 from Lidl last year) to be secured by extra tent pegs (10p from Wilko last year). Hopefully all this effort will keep the pigeons off my posh (reduced price seed) kale.

Only a few reduced bits and pieces left at my local store, tools back to full price, BF&B/Growmore back to full price, nothing left worth watching for further reductions, but giant tins of Cuprinol only £2.50

If you find any camping gear left instore it might be worth getting a price check as I found a folding stool amongst the remnants of gardening stuff and it scanned at 50p.
