No, but if there'd been a member of staff around the gardening section I would've taken one there and asked them about it (believe me, I can keep a straight face).

Can it be used as a cheap alternative to WD40? Kinda the same idea.

Saw these very same jugs being sold at an 'antique centre' today, for only £2.50 each! Would probably have been twice that if they were filled with a few dried flowers and adorned with some gingham ribbon.

Not a lot @Steffy they are seasonal, flogging off overstocked Christmas items at the moment, all to be reduced in the weeks after Christmas, the gardening sales start mid-summer to make way for back to school items. They sell some label changing items and bits and bobs reduced all year, if you look back through posts you will see where @Scrungee has spotted reductions started, and alerted us on here.

After Xmas Eve there might be a few gardening related gift sets reduced to 50% off, then down to 75% off, plus I look out for 5p/10p sparkly gift bags to dress up gifts of homemade preserves, homebrew, homemade Easter Eggs, etc.

Noticed some 560mm dia x 750mm high woven polypropylene BBQ covers have appeared on their reduced shelf, down from £2.48 to £1.00 which might (with addition of drainage holes) be useful as big potato bags. http://www.bbq-store.co.uk/product/...Kettle-Barbecue-Cover-Pe-Green-75cmx56cm.html

Wooden handled stainless steel spades and forks were only £5 each in my local Wilko today (normally £15), think all/most of the other wooden handles s.s. tools were also reduced. None of these are now on their website so it could well be a national reduction. (NB All the plastic handled ones were still full price, wonder if they're discontinuing wooden handles, or if it's just another unfathomable temporary reduction)

P.S. Also found advent calendars reduced to only 20p.

Checked out 2 other Wilkos yesterday and their s.s. wooden handled spades and forks were also only £5 each, reason I looked is because I want to get one of their s.s. wooden handled rakes which have been reduced to £3, but can't find stock anywhere. (my Father's old 1940's rake is looking a bit tired + using one with a longer handle might be easier on my back)

They're £5 in my 2 locals, not bad considering they were £15 last year. Decent stuff, bought a lawn edge and its been great

The digging spade and long handled fork gone back up to £10, haven't checked the other store yet.

                      Todays bargains..
2 rolls of 50p xmas wrapping paper (it was pretty and could be used for birthday gifts, there was cheaper for 12p but didn't like it)
                      3 x pour and feed houseplant - 20p each
                      3 x rootkill weedkiller spray - 35p
                      10 x small black pots - 10p each
wooden handle hand fork - 75p
Wooden handle leaf rake - £2.50

xmas stuff and a few toys are 75% off, doubt it'll go much lower everyone's like a hawk.
Another thing I thought was a good price is Dylon dye for machine wash £5, bought bahama blue to refresh my towels :)

9 cost £7.11, but adding just 1 more and they will cost £15 for 10, crazy!

P.S. Reading about a few Wilkos gardening bargains has brightened up a dull, dreary, damp day.

make 2 orders of 9 hessian bags ;) but for 4.99 delivery you might want to add in a few extras!! and it didn't come the next working day.. check this, hermes delivered the hose holder on the saturday and dpd followed up with bags today.. would have thought it be the other way round anyhoo still waiting for a blueberry bush.
Back to wilkos.. my local is so behind no bloody tubers or bulbs/spuds/sets etc until this weekend, the other store had them in last weekend!
