Well, today was the final visit - with Mr D, as well as son, Bella and Daisy (and me, of course!!)

Went VERY well, and we took all three dogs for a walk in the grounds, eventually with Mr D taking both Charlie and Bella. Here's the very first pic - rear view only, I'm afraid  Just to whet everyone's appetite for more!

    Full tailed dog = Charlie!!

Looking forward to having a new dog tomorrow - the Fifth of November - what a day to do it!! We checked and they say he's ok with loud noises.....

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone!

Really looking forward to tomorrow! Don't know what Tom will think, when he's been getting that nice new bed all comfy for himself.....

Still, he dealt with Daisy's arrival perfectly well - stood his ground, and deliberately walked through to the kitchen, hopped up to his food bowl and casually ate some of his dinner, with Daisy watching, and he then had a follower until she got used to him.... Had us all in stitches!!

    Well, Charlie's here!

The first photo! I'm sure you'll see better ones of him later, but he has decided this is his safe corner. I brought him in my van, where he'll travel with me to work, let him out into the garden, then let Bella out too, and they had a bit of time warning each other, then up into the area of the house where the animals are allowed, and had a coffee. Charlie clearly knows that coffee = treat-time, so has that in common with Bella!

They never get biscuits from us, but they did get a bit of a dog treat today....

They've just been out for a walk along the canal, so it's lunch time, and we can all start to settle down and get back to normal. Oh, and Tom walked up to Charlie in his corner, Charlie sat still, but turned his head away, and Tom rubbed against Charlie's shoulder, then walked off, very slowly!

Tom is still top animal, then! [IMG]

He's had his first experience of Bella's favourite walking place - Muiravonside, on a lead, of course!

Definitely approved of it, and obviously would have loved to rush off like Bella was doing! By next spring, probably...

And maybe soon I'll have a nice photo of him, not too dark, like the last one....

I think we all know what it's like to open our door and share our home and family with a friend...But these friends become a loyal and trustworthy companion. You are so fortunate to be able to do so..I envy you!
