I've got a Pyracantha beside my front door, Harry, which has been there nearly 30 years and if you put any weight into the "theory" of many berries means a hard Winter it'll be another one on the way. But like I said the last few seasons have been unusually dull and sunless and now with this lasting mild Autumn things are all out of synch so I'm not at all sure:scratch::D

ARMANDII, our exochardas are starting to flower as well . Do I read anything into it? Nope! :heehee:

I take things as they come and so does the garden :). There's no point in me buying a snow shovel as I wouldn't be able to use the thing anyway :(. Got rid of my snow chains 20 years ago. If the snow is too deep I snuggle up indoors - except for knocking snow off plants that it's too heavy for.

Some of the snowdrops are a few inches high but no flowers yet. They're such cheerful plants

Today looks good with frost on the ground and the sun shining brightly. :sunny:

Cold...in the Vale this morning. Our first real taste of winter.
Minus 2C and a crispy frost.
Well I remember this time last year when we were two foot under snow !

Yes, Shiney, as I said early the plants in my garden are confused and, like you, my Exachorda is flowering as well as some Oriental Poppies are making buds.:DOH: I've just planted 3 bare root climbing roses down by the pond and while I was down there I was astounded by the huge numbers of shoots poking out of the ground. My Snowdrops are only just poking out of the ground so perhaps they're not as confused as the rest.:heehee::D

Clueless, so you're to blame for the cold weather. :heehee: Cold but dry here today. We're being promised wintry showers on high ground over the next few days.

Had to take a second look at a rhododendron in passing today. Yes! it was in bloom.

My roses have not only budded but now produced full beautiful blooms ?

Now the dry root roses I planted just Wednesday have buds on the stems

I know I talk a lot of it, but I have not put any in the earth I planted them in

Some of the sunflowers that we had left for the birds to get the seeds have started flowering again  but with very small flowers.

Saw over 1,000 sacks of rock salt on pallets in the car park outside a B&Q today, loads more on the racking out the back and apparently their warehouse is also full of the stuff.
