I'm not horrid, I observed that she is 'quite fit'. That's quite a compliment up here in the north east:)

God help us. I remember when princess Dianna was nearing the end of her first pregnancy (would that be with William? I can't remember). The TV became impossible to watch. I remember little subtitle announcements on the bottom of the screen, no matter what channel you were trying to watch, announcing 'Contractions have started', 'her waters have broke', 'she's been taken to hospital', 'the midwife has arrived', 'we can see the head', 'charles had better hide cos HE DID THIS TO ME' (ok I don't remember the exact details of what the subtitles said, but they gave a bit more detail than the great British public really needed. Then programs on every channel (all 3 or was it 4 of them back then) were interupted for special news bulletins to bring the inevitable news.

I think I'd rather clean out the tanks at a Sewer farm that have to watch the on-coming, mind numbing, dumbed down media organised and totally too drawn out agonizing wedding arrangements of the Royal 2. [God bless 'em]. Why are we talking about pregnancies? The poor so and so's have only just got engaged and everybody want's to hear the rattle of a diamond encrusted baby rattle! I wonder if they'll put in a claim for children's allowance if the much wanted event happens - if it does. I would love to have been a fly on the wall to listen to the Duke of Edinburghs comments to the Queen when he found out!!

At least we get a day to hit the garden centres - they'll be empty!

Daisees, I don't really think they are having a go at the 'royal couple'. What they are doing is having a go at the media.

To me it's a matter of - good luck to them but I'm not particularly interested. I'm quite capable of ignoring the media and not letting it intrude on my little world.

Oh dear!! I've just let it intrude, haven't I? :heehee:

Love to hear the opinions of all you. My opinion, it will be interesting to watch. At the same time, for any one's wedding, I think it nuts to spend so much money on a wedding.
And is it not your taxes that fund this sort of thing?
I hope they are able establish privacy in their lives.
Wishing them happiness and peace in their lives.

It is, but then supporters of the royals would argue that the event will attract a lot of foreign tourists, who will spend their money here, thus effectively reimbursing us. Whether tourist trade covers the cost or not is beside the point to a degree though, because in general our outdated pomp and ceremony does bring money in from abroad, so I guess its important that the royals due there duty and keep the image going.

I'm sure neither of them are relishing the attention.

Shame for them really, as they do seem to be genuinely nice people. I enjoyed his fathers wedding because I was a little girl and it was like a fairytale. If you needed proof that they don't exist you just need to see how that turned out!

If they are allowed to keep some parts of their life private I'm sure they stand a good chance.

As I say, I'm looking forward to my family all getting the day off!

I like young prince Bill. For a lad of such privilege, when he appears on telly he does seem very down to earth. He took part in a game show that I used to watch once, can't remember the name of it but it was all about paintball battles. He got stuck just like the rest of his team mates. I think he later joined the army didn't he, and then got upset after some daft journalist told the world where he was stationed so he had to come home.

I know nothing about young Kate, except that she's quality, and 'pleasant on the eye'.

I hope they have a happy life together, but in truth, I like to see people happy regardless of their social standing.

Victoria, don't forget that although the government have declared it a Bank Holiday it doesn't mean that they are entitled to have a day off with pay :th_scifD36:. In a lot of cases they will have to give up a days holiday for it . The government forgot to tell people that part.
