    Chess @longk, there are similarities be they slightly distant. I played chess when I was young and my late Mum who was a very very good tennis player (couldn't get where she should have done due to WW11) was Scottish chess champion despite the fact she loathed chess and only played to appease her parents!
    I did play twice at Wimbledon. Once in the invitation juniors and then again the following year in the proper tournament.Played like a drain in both but no regrets I didn't love tennis enough to practice every waking hour which is what is really required. The old saying of 10% inspiration/natural talent and 90% perspiration/hard work is about right.
    Not too sure I agree. Andy M has my total admiration for achieving the 90% perspiration, the natural talent is somewhat lacking IMO(his brother was naturally way better but ruined mentally by the LTA along with many others!). To have both the natural talent and the huge commitment to succeed is quite rare and equals the likes of Federer:love30:
