Installed it over win 7 tried it for a few days but could not get on with the way things I use daily were hidden. Now reverted back to win 7 all ok but had to reinstall 2 drivers Synaptics touchpad and Intel Graphics. Not for me too much like my phone.

My Windows 10 upgrade appeared this evening and it took 1hr 45min approximately to install. Although running it has dealt me a couple of issues which I'll try and sort out tomorrow.

Seems to me there are an awful lot of updates and patches being issued for something that was supposed to be so 'perfect' in the first place :)

I got a Win10 update yesterday for my laptop that came with Win10 installed and it only took several minutes, so guess the big issue is still changing from 8 to 10.

@Scrungee , your laptop had W10 installed from new . On a clean installation like yours has there been any problems ? Everyone else seems to be upgrading from 7 or 8 . In fact very few desktops are shipping with W10 at the moment ,it's offered as an upgrade from 8.

I was talking about the Windows 10 follow on upgrade not general updates. :)

Yep, Sheal, but there's plenty of the latter. I have to use Wise PC Engineer software and optimising system software to clear my PC of all the left over digital rubbish [300 broken registry entries or so] caused by the frequent updates.:dunno::wallbanging:

I have been using win 10 for a while now, but I am not liking it at the moment. It did an upgrade tonight (1511 update), and it took much longer than I expected it to. I thought it was just doing a standard update.
It seemed to lock up my pc on completion, so I had to do a restart, and even after that it was very slow and had the hard drive light on constantly. I checked the privacy settings, and they were all set to 'allow' !! :th scifD36: After a quick google on my phone, many seem to have had the same thing happen. Why can't they get this put right. It happens far too often for my liking .
