That's beautiful HB, I don't have any roses in bloom now.

Hi Stingo, yes I should think you can. It probably comes in from Holland (I am not sure) and I buy it through Evergreen Exterior Services at Banstead, SWLondon or from their stall at Nine Elms market. It should thus be available in garden centres generally, though I rarely visit them. Certainly worth a phone call to your local one!

Saw this in Banstead Wood sort of by the entrance to a golf course today. Think it is Cotoneaster 'Cornubia' but uncertain. Certainly looks lovely. A Christmas feast for the blackbirds and pigeons!

Here's another pic of a garden moving into winter.

I know there's another beastly Mahonia in it, but it seems to work in this more natural setting.

I've got roses still producing buds - but never have my camera handy, blast it! Must try to remember to dodge the raindrops tomorrow and try to get some pictures.....

Found this the other day. It is seedling cyclamen coum's first ever flower and this one smells of violets. I think I will keep this in a pot as it is then so easy to hold up to the nose.

First hoar frost this morning adds a touch of magic to the garden

The first camelia buds open with many more to come. Perfectly frost hardy, but make sure that the morning sun doesn't reach the flowers while they are still frosted.

Berberis makes a wonderful prickly hedge and provides strong winter colour with berries later

Lovely photos, HB, as usual! Aren't the Camellias a wee bit early?
