You do have it good, Paladin! And I thought it was great working for a lady on her estate, clearing out her "secret garden", bigger than most folk's entire garden, ah well! But I agree - I'd hate to work indoors again - particularly if it was a school!!

Nice one - but I don't envy you the cold. I would love a conservatory - but my patio is just a tad small, and usually covered in plants :D

It is solid Oak!...Before it was assembled it had six coats of preservative and as it belongs to our Head Joiner I'm sure it will get only the best care ;)

    Paladin,just off the thread a little .
How thick should my greenhouse glass be-2mm-3mm-4mm?You see I seem to break 2 or 3 panes every year.

Sounds like a case of cold fingers to me, bet the rubber doesn't act the same when its cold either.
Suppose its easier to fix the lead first, rather than try climbing up there once its glazed.
I think the rest of us will just have to try harder. :D

roders,Dutch light glass is 3mm and standard cut for most G Houses and quite cheap.
4mm float is not so cheap but of course stronger and a light framed house can become more rigid causing less movement and fewer breaks.
I used 4.2 laminated on my own.expensive but replaceing the odd pane now and again with it pays dividends over time.
Another trick I use is to seal around each pane with a clear silicone..this buffers the glass and should any break the shards hang on the silicone rather than fall and do more damage.

Thank Paladin, Thats spot on.That rules out 2mm that I use.
4.2 Laminated that is pure decadence.
But you are in the trade..............
