WORLD CUP FOOTBALL

Well, now I've heard/seen it all - on Saturday afternoon I was looking after a guy who had just had a broken wrist fixed. It was 2.20pm and as he emerged from the anaesthetic, he was muttering something. He sounded anxious so thinking he might be in pain, like the good nurse I am, I leaned closer to hear his whispered words which were "what's...the...score?"

 

:rolleyes: At least he had something to think about instead of worrying about his operation!!! :D

 

I watched transfixed, the live news coverage of the empty sky over an airport (somewhere in Britain) awaiting the arrival of the Leer jet carrying Wayne Rooney to have a scan. Surely it can't get any more gripping than this.

:( Agree roders, shame they managed to keep going with only 10 men and then lose 3 - 1 penalty shootouts. I always think there must be a better way as it just depends on the goalie in the end doesn't it?
