After the Olympics, with how proud our athletes were to fly the flag, I became more disillusioned with international football. Our guys are just so 'meh', there's not the pride there, they're just rich spoiled brats now for the most part. I'm usually quite a big footie fan but this World Cup isn't doing it for me. I hope that changes when it kicks off, partly because my husband is really looking forward to it. I for one am already wishing it was over...

As a big fan of footie (even though I support the Cobblers), I shall be cheering our boys on.

My second team will be Holland.

It's just after 9pm, I'm sitting near the other half who is at present under the above said headphones. That's fine by me but.....yesterday he said he was only going to watch the England matches......also......I could do without the ooh's and ahhh's, the sharp intakes of breath and the odd bouts of commentary that are coming from that direction, so far the blue air is missing!

At the start of this world cup, with the above going on I might well find myself moving to another room, I've had enough already! :wallbanging:

Well, I never watched football in my life until I moved to Portugal and both t'other half and I are avid fans and fly the Portuguese flag. It's no secret that I am a fan of Cristiano ... and he follows me on my artsite ... :yahoo: We also like Spain and Germany.

What a good thing that ref was there to award that dodgy penalty... we couldn't have Brazil losing their first game in the own tournament with all the unrest they've had, etc...

I will not be watching any football, I have loads of things stored on my t.v. recorder especially, Happy Valley etc, I will however be watching the results , marvellous betting opportunities, being an ex betting office manager I used to have quite a knowledge of football, I didn`t want, last night for instance Brazil were a shoe in at evens, handicap -1. Result 3-1.....:hapydancsmil:

I am going to watch every second if possible.
Told the Mrs not to disturb me....I am in glued to the couch in front of the tv for a month :yikes:
Uh oh.... But tbh, she knows I love sport, so prob won't give me that much of a hard time about it.

                    Who's going to win it?
Hard to predict, but my guess is either of:
                    Germany, Spain or Brazil

It is also Le Mans this weekend, which I plan on watching as much of as I can.

Good morning I've got red white and blue running right through me like a stick of rock;) I shall be watching most games as I don't get many chances to see Brazil Argentina,,Holland etc and all the players who have tremendous skills, commitment, speed and their work rate is phenomenal:phew:

If we were disinterested in everything that is corrupt and about money ,fixing the result etc that happens in most sports and parliament, energy suppliers, and in all walks of life,we just as well go for a walk in the country with our cameras:ideaIPB:
England will reach the play offs and then go on to win the final on penalties

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has revealed he intends to open a topless bar in Rio De Janeiro.
The Swiss money magnet claims to have fallen in love with Brazil’s underworld while attending the Confederations Cup.
He said: “For the first time in my life I feel at home.
“Many people here value money more than human life, and that is exactly my philosophy.
“I plan to use my contacts in Eastern Europe to assemble a crack team of underpaid workers.
“Then I will create a small, slimy empire built on deceit and tanning oil.”
