Thanks for all the support. We will be phoning the Sanctuary again in the week for another progress report.

Sorry to hear of your accident, Rosa, and hope it can be resolved without too much trauma on your behalf. Whiplash is a nasty thing - poor you, especially with your osteo problems! :( Keep your chin up.

Justice is sometimes about ... t'other half wrote our friend in Alabama and told him about the wee babes in a carrier and the friend has written back and said four months ago a fighting dog was found in a bag in a dumpster. A vet gave free treatment but the dog lost a leg. The uncouth (that's being polite) and obviously very stupid person left an addressed envelope of the bag and was promptly arrested and has received a two year jail sentence - hurray! :D It made national news and the dog was named Lucky and people from all over called to adopt him. One "lucky" pooch! :D

Some people! How can someone do something like thaat?
We got Emily and Larsson from a local cat rescue as well, we visited the lady to "pick" - try picking a kitten when there is about 15 of them just staring up at you and wanting to come with you! I only wanted one but could not resist a second (would have taken them all but my family would have sent a shrink by the very same evening!) and my friend who was actually only coming along to show me how to get to the place also ended up taking a 5 week old cutie home with her! (She just could not get the little girl off her shoulder at all, I think the lady had put glue on the kitten's feet!)
This was just one small cottage, just one volunteer, and she had 15 kittens, about 30 adult cats and also a cat that had just given birth to 4 babies too. How do you find homes for all of them! On the one hand I absolutely admire these volunteers, but I have to admit I also envy them, because I love cats!

Best part about adopting Emily and Larsson was, normally these fosterers do not give the kittens away without a home visit first. But this lady uses the same vet as we do (a wonderful lady called Elaine) and Elaine obviously praised our kitten keeping regime so much that the fosterer did not see the need for a home visit. Made me go all fuzzy inside while growing 2 inches with pride! We must be doing something right then!

Yes we do have 2 pedigree cats, but if the truth be told, they are nowhere near as loving and as attached as the rescue cats. We got Diego and Galileo at 7 weeks old, and now Emily and Larsson were 8 weeks when we got them. And they are so beautifully grateful, it is as if they know very well what kind of fate they might have had otherwise!

An update and it's good news ... Candida and Calvos are alive and doing well! :D :D :D Guess we'll soon have to start visiting!

We haven't seen Splodge the last three times we've gone to feed them; funnily enough, not since the day we found the above two! We've asked the Sanctuary about taking Magic Dog (he's just getting so thin around the haunches) but she can't and has given us another shelter to call and we've left a message on the voicemail. I don't hold out much hope, but fingers crossed! [IMG]

We went to visit Candida and Calvos today ... but Valerie (the French girl) had taken them home for the weekend! Sob, sob! Had camera with us ready for first photoshoot! Apparently, when Valerie brings them in during the weekdays, they lived in a baby pen in Nan's living room! Sweet! We're going to go back in the week and apparently we can bring them home in about two weeks time! Hurray! :D :D :D

We stayed and visited a while with Nan and played with the other kittens in the big cat house while she fed them yogurt. Apparently that's better for them than milk, so I shall have to try this out on Magic Sam.

I have always had "Boy Cats" can't wait to see your pics.
Our Cats Protection needs Foster homes til they get a forever home,They put cat pens up for you & provide food ,litter etc. But i think i wouldn't be able to part with them when it came to the crunch.
Waiting is a slow game, very painful too.

Hi, Gogs. Agree with you ... how could you foster and then part! Nooooo! Candida is a girl as she's a Calico but only found out yesterday that Calvos is a boy ... hurray! ... he's black with some white on his cheeks and chest (if I remember correctly!).
