I doubt very much that the estate agents are interested in what plants are in the garden. More than likly the ad would read. A well landscaped garden.
Thanks @Mike Allen , I'm sure you I right. I would just rather do things right and do them sooner rather than later. If the buyer turns out to be a builder is going to bulldozer the whole lot down then I would have no qualms in removing plants at a later date.
Sorry @Upsydaisy just noticed this thread. Yes i would cut them back about half way and soak them beforehand. Because the roses are established, it's better to move them when dormant, because of your situation i would take cuttings. But you don't know when your house will be sold so you might be able to move them in November as well.
Thanks @Logan...yes as I said I know it's not the the right time or the right procedures. But when needs must... . I would personally cut back too, but some say no...as a lot have already said, just got to 'go for it'. It a no brainer really I either leave then...and that's it or I try rehoming them which may prove successful. I have already taken cuttings a couple of weeks ago
I am sorry to hear about your dad passing upsy. I am always moving plants even when they are in flower , I personally wouldn't move a rose for example now, but given the choice of leave it or risk it I would be digging it up . Next door to me moved a rose weeks ago when it were dry for weeks , looked like it weren't going to make it lost all its leaves, but its budded up in the past week and now got new leaves on it.
Thanks @Perki...I will definitely try again next week, as I said on another thread it proved to be too bigger a job for such a hot day yesterday.
