We never go to gardening centres but occasionally go to good local, private, nurseries. :noidea:

The Bicester, Oxon GC included in that list is supposed to have started clearing out lots of plants at knock down prices, such as £20 reduced to £1, shame it hadn't started when I was there on Monday.

Could be store specific and/or unrelated, but might be worth keeping a look out for clearance bargains.

A local Wyevale here but I don’t go there for anything.....too pricey and becoming too much of a general store for my liking

Garden centres are so expensive now they are contributing to the collapse of home gardening imho.

Its just too expensive to go in and buy some compost, plants and containers. Especially as they only last the summer in most cases.

Cheaper to just buy a grim coffee and a thin slice of mass produced average tasting cake and look at the boring trays of plants on your way out. :coffee:

I've only found one Dobbies, that's the one at Ashford, and I'd say it's probably picier and more of a supermarket than Wyevales are.
Bought some pork chops, from the butchers there, last time I visited.
            The restaurant is vast,

The rest is the usual tat.

Oh, nearly forgot, they often have plants for sale and seeds, similar to Morrisons or Tescos.

Our Wyevale has closed down. I hadn't noticed as, although its not that far away, its not in the direction I usually travel.

We already have a Dobbies. I actually quite like it. It has an excellent cafe with good wifi. Before committing to buying anything I get the chance to do research whilst casually enjoying a nice cup of coffee and Danish pastry.

The nearest to here is probably Cherry Lane. It seems to be as good a place as any and reasonably priced.

We prefer to use Morrison's, B&M, the Range or QD. Our B&Q is pretty good also.
