    Ta for that PinO!
When I've done winter baskets, I've put an evergreen, generally variegated, like a young aucuba, or euonymus as the height, ivy as the trailer, primroses and winter-flowering pansies round the basket, and small daffs (like tete a tete) and crocuses around the place to grow up through the edging plants. Looks good - honest!! I learned from the professionals....

Dendrobium hi again over jet lag ready to get my think cap on .But had to make a start to tidy back front garden with being away needed weeds taken out.
Your idea is great but of course yours would be like my idea of a Spring Basket.

I only want to use for a xmas theme on our solar light arrangement our neighbour maid.As I said I shall be doing season theme basket.

Holly and the Ivy like the carol ,stuck for a flower as my christmas roses never seem to flower at Christmas. This will be hanging outdoors at whatever the weather is to be thrown at us.

    Hi Lady of leisure.

I am still at thinking stage of my Christmas basket.

But think it will all come together in the end.

We only want these baskets planted up for over the festive time as shall replant or at least have another in the background growing.

I am looking for a silver trailing ivy, does not need to be holy but a small grown plant with red ,pink or white berries.

Going to a garden centre to get tomorrow.

Shall plant snowdrops which pop up after,a small xmas Santa make it Santa looking as my neighbour is a childminder adn small children around.

In my head coming together just to put it together.

Reds,Greens and Silver shall be my colour theme.

[IMG] I have moved away from my usual for this winter... I am trying something different this year... I have lined the baskets with Coconut fibre, & filled them with a spreading Hebe, Ornamental grasses & Sempervivums...... Giving me, in a slightly vague way red, green & silver..... They will have a little shelter so we shall see how they go... I can take a photo tomorrow of the two smallest ones. My d-in-l already has hers up......!! ;) [IMG]
