    Good morning everyone,

Very windy out there again today but at least it is dry:D

Rosa, yes I think that Lapland is probably expensive but I suppose when your hubby is in buisness and earning lots of money then a few thousand on a short trip to Lapland is peanuts:D My headache went after I went and had a lie down for a couple of hours, then I went outside for a few hours in the fresh air tidying up some of the borders and felt a lot better when I had finished.:thumb:

Hope you all have a great day:)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, it is also blowing a gale here :(. Monty's humans returned yesterday and emailed that he gave them a good welcome k-l k-l. It hasn't stopped him coming down here and eating Oscar's breakfast. Oscar just sat there and watched him. Oscar quite often doesn't eat his food and we have to throw it away but Monty would eat anything. The vet has already said that he needs to lose weight.

We have some indoor orchids and some hardier ones that stay in the greenhouse.

Some that are in bloom now - photo taken this morning

    Morning Shiney,

Love your Orchids:gnthb: Nice to see some different colours. We have the pink ones plus pink spotted ones,a white one that has just stopped flowering for the time being .When I was collecting the leaves last year from my leaf man and his neighbours I found two of the very small Orchids under the piles of leaves that had been thrown away,so I just had to rescue them. One died but the other one survived but it hasn't thrown up any flower spikes as yet but I live in hope:DI have some photos that I took a few weeks ago so will have to put them up on here:)

By the way love the little green frog:thmb: and are these Orchids in the bathroom as your lovely tiles look the sort that would go in bathrooms.Sorry to be nosey:flag::D

    It is still bad out there so am spending the day in the greenhouse so I am happy as long as i have me radio to listen to{Five Live and Radio Two:D}

Glad to hear that Monty has gone home now that his humans are back.Uggy has also gone missing from our house so I reckon she has gone to join Monty:hehe:

Our cats are off their food as well:(We now find the only wet food they will eat is Tesco's Premium Cuts in gravy but we had to buy some of the chicken sort the other week as they only had twenty pouches of the beef and they are not keen on the chicken ones.I expect they are not keen on battery chickens like we are not:p

    Enjoy your day:)

    Good morning Peri and everyone,

Peri my Bronchitis is a lot better thanks,it is jsut the coughing I have to deal with now.I went out into the garden for a short time the other day to do some tidying up after the winds and came back indoors to have a nice hot drink and to read an email from one of my friends.I had just taken a mouthful and then read a funny part of what she had written, did some swallowing which went down the wrong way and ended up coughing and spraying my hot drink everywhere.I didn't find it funny but my friend was in stitches when I told her what had happened. At least we brightened up each others day:D

Have you joined Farmville and Fishville on Facebook?Since my friend has joined in those games I don't hear much from her nowadays. She also does a Gem Jewel game and she gets a bit obsessed with it:p

Glad that you went to the RSPB headquarters. We must get back over there sometime but I need some new binos first as without them you can't see the birds properly and from where we live it is almost like a day out for us:D

Yes,I find my xmas cactus buds start to drop if I move them about too much but as Willow insists on sitting on the windowsill I have to keep moving several of them to give him some room:D

Anyway, yesterday was spent in the greenhouse sorting out plants for the winter months and also clearing out a lot of old flowerpots, plants labels etc and i have four dustbin bags full ready to go over to the tip and that is without the ones thta have gone in the Wheeley bin.:p

Hope everyone has a good day.We are still in the grip of this windy weather at the moment.:p

Good morning Penny, Peri, Kandy, rosa and everyone,

Kandy, I'm pleased to hear that the brinchitis has gone.
Yes, that is the bathroom :thumb:. After my mother died years ago my sister and I sold her house and I used some of the money to revamp the bathroom and kitchen and build the summer house and the rest is paying for all these holidays we are having. So every time I see all the improvements or have a holiday I can say "Thank you, mum. :luv:".

The orchids seem to find the bathroom a very good environment and they seem to grow new flowering stems pretty quickly after the flowers have dropped. :gnthb:

Penny, I hope the snow keeps away for a while so that you can get all the clearing done in your garden :thmb:

Peri, It sounds a bit horrendous with your neighbour :(. I can't understand why people need to music so loud . Afew doors away we have a professional drummer and he practices a lot. At least he has tried to make it better for everyone by having a shed in his garden that he has tried to sound proof. It works quite well.

rosa, do you sell your paintings?

Yesterday Mrs shiney went to have a chat whith Monty's humans. Monty looked very happy sleeping on a cushion in their utility room k-l k-l. Although it didn't stop him coming down later and helping Oscar with his food :hehe:

Although it is still windy here I shall try and get some work done in the garden.

    Have a great day :D

peri sorry to hear you have neighbour problems with blasting music thats awful do your head in, ive had problems with my neighbours downstairs, banging and tapping late at night, dog barking and the old father that lives with this couple turning his telly and old fashioned music up loud i went mad with them they are not as bad now.
i put the stafordshire painting in hobbies.
shiney i havnt sold any for a while but i have sold a lot in the past.

    Good morning everyone,

Shiney your plants look very healthy in your bathroom:gnthb: Glad to hear you are putting your inheritence to good use and getting pleasure out of it:luv: I have my Orchids in the dining room on the windowsill as it is cooler in there. We never use our bathroom so they would be out of sight out of mind so to speak so where I have them I can see and appreciate them better:p I have quiet a few xmas catus in flower at the moment so my lounge windowsill is quiet full.Normally I only like a few bits on there so it doesn't look too cluttered:p.I am still croaking a bit and sound chesty today but I am feeling so much better than the other week:D

Shiney did you hear on the news that even Lorton had it's bridge washed away in the floods:( It is pretty bad up there at the moment

Hi Peri nice to see you back again:luv: The best advice I can give you regarding your xmas cactus is to stand them outside through the summer months after the frosts have gone{begining of June} and let the sun get to them.Don't forget to water them well in between drying out.Bring them back indoors when you see the first tiny buds appearing on the ends of the leaves and try not to move them too much when the buds get large as that will make them drop off:p

By the way we have already got our prezzies to each other so binos will have to wait for another time:D

Rosa, hope you enjoyed those hash brownies, the recipe i sent you looked nice so will have to try them myself.:)Hope you are not getting too battered with this wind we are all getting.

Well,it was very windy again yesterday and i did more work in the shed althouhg the dust made me cough at times.Even though Mabel has been dead a few months I am still finding bits of straw and hay everywhere:(I liberated a very large spider out the shed window so he was pleased and then I took a car load full of dustbin bags to the tip and got rid of so much stuff.Even the passenger seat and footwell had bags in it:D
Had a male pheasant walk across the road and I slowed down to let him pass in front of the car,so that is one less road kill:p

Anyway,we have rain here this morning and the wind is still going well so looks like I shall have to concentrate on ironing and housework today:D

Hope you all have a good day now:)

Morning Rosa, nearly missed you there. We only had a problem once with loud music where we used to live and our neighbour had his son come to stay for a few months and he had his music on so loud we could here it through the walls and his bedrrom was on the far side of the bungalow. It was so bad we had to go out as we couldn't even hear out TV.We had a word with his dad who told him off and he was fine after that:thumb:

Hope you are well geared up for xmas Rosa. There is one house in the village that has all its lights and trees up since last Saturday. It is far too early, but I know you have yours up for your hubby before he goes back offshore:D

    Have a good day now:luv:

    Good morning everyone,

I've just been looking at videos of the flooding in Cumbria. It doesn't look good up there :(

Yesterday morning Oscar was on his blanket and Monty was on the bench. I don't think all is sweetness and light because there was evidence of a fight. As it wasn't raining Mrs shiney told Monty to go out and when he ignored her she flicked some water in his face. He went out in disgust :hehe:

It is raining this morning so no gardening but we got a lot done yesterday. The garden is looking quite tidy :gnthb:

    Have a great day :D
