    Good morning Rosa and everyone,

Rosa hope you get on ok shopping this morning,we went early on Saturday before nine and there were loads of wrinklies even at that time and there was a mother with a newborn baby that she was trying to hold plus two other young children and was having to put everything in the trolley one handed.I was worried to death she was going to drop the baby:euw:

Peri,i don't know a lot about computers so don't know much about all those technical terms. If I have a problem then I get Mr Kandy to sort them out for me:D

Shiney love the photo of Oscar in the shoe box,you really brighten up my day with the exploits of Oscar and his freind Monty:D:luv:

I was just looking at the weather forecast earlier and there is snow up North so with luck I might get my white Christmas after all:D

Well I hope everyone has a lovely day:)

    Good morning everyone,

Peri, I find that I don't usually have to turn off my firewall to upgrade my virus checker. I just tell the firewall to allow it. :thumb:

rosa, I rarely go to the supermarket early because, even if the supermarket is empty, the roads are jammed with rush hour traffic. I either go mid-morning or after midnight.

Kandy, the only wrinkly I see at the supermarket when I go after midnight is me when I look in the mirror :old: :hehe: :rotfl:

Now that the evenings are getting darker Oscar has changed his eating habits. Normally he is waiting on the patio for his food by 7.30 in the morning and gets it anytime between then and 8.30. His evening feed is usually around 6.00.

Now that it is darker he stays in bed until 9.00 and only gets up when his breakfast is brought to him. In the afternoon he now turns up on the front doormat at 4.30 and waits to be fed (although he is always fed in the greenhouse). Then, at about 7.30 he is back on the mat and will sit there all evening until he is given some cat biscuits. He knows that most evenings at least one of us will be going out about 7.30 so is on to a winner. If we don't give him anything he will still be there even if we aren't back until midnight. He doesn't miss a trick k-l k-l

Kandy, I've been having to sort out things for Vi. (For those of you who don't know - Vi is in her mid 80's, very disabled with arthritis, a bad (enlarged) heart, diabetic, very high blood pressure and has to have blood tranfusions every month. She lives with her adult son who is also disabled with cerebral palsy from birth and epileptic.) She was taken into hospital last week and sent home Monday. She phoned me yesterday saying that she now can't walk but the hospital hasn't told her what is wrong. They said to her that she would be able to walk again in a couple of days.

As she still couldn't walk yesterday she phoned me to say that they are really struggling. Barry is having problems helping her get upstairs to the toilet and to bed so they are now both sleeping downstairs in armchairs and asking a neighbour to come in and help her to the loo.

When she told me about it I called her doctor's surgery to tell them that she needs help and a doctor needs to go round there to assess her. The receptionist was very sympathetic and I made sure that she had all the details put on their computer and put through to the doctor. She said that the doctor will phone Vi and chat to her (he's not allowed to talk to me - Data Protection Act) before deciding what needs doing. I shall phone Vi this morning. If nothing happens today then I shall start pulling strings and stirring things up.

It is nice and sunny out there but is breezy and a lot chillier than the last few days.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning woo and everyone,

woo, your good wishes are most heartily reciprocated :) :thmb:

We have a busy weekend coming up. Shortly we are off to Kent to visit an ex-neighbour who is now suffering from cancer :(. From there we shall continue on to visit Mrs shiney's sister and go and see her sister's father-in-law who has Parkinsons and Alzheimers. Not a happy situation.

Tomorrow will be a more cheerful day when we go and visit friends in Suffolk :thumb:

The Vi situation is only slightly improved. The day I contacted the surgery the daoctor phoned her and arranged for a nurse to come and help her three times a day. This is still not satisfactory as she is unable to get to the loo even with her son trying to help. So a call to the surgery insisted that the doctor goes to see her - and the nurse said she would tell the doctor as well. He was supposed to go there yesterday evening but I don't know what has happened as I was out from the evening until midnight.

She should really be in a hospital or a care home but I'm sure she will not want to go :( and her son would be lost without her. So, all in all, not a very good situation.

The weather forecast for the weekend is very wet and I hope that Cumbria doesn't have more trouble.

Sorry, this all sounds so negative :flag:

I hope you all have a great weekend :D

Good morning Woo Shiney and everyone.

Woo hope you are feeling better and still taking things slowly until you are feeling stronger:thumb:

Shiney, sorry to here about Vi and her sons sad situation and hope that something positve can be done to help them both out. They are both lucky to have such lovely friends in you and Mrs Shiney that try to do everything you possibly can to help them:luv:

Sorry also to hear about your ex neighbour with their problem. The big C is a terrible disease that is affecting so many lives all over the world and i do hope and pray that one day a cure will be found and it will be a disease of the past, like some of the diseases of olden times.

Hope all goes well with the visit to Mrs Shineys sister and her FIL.and hope they enjoy your visit:)

On a brighter note you will no doubt have a good day visiting friends in Suffolk and hope the weather stays nice for you all so you have an enjoyable day:D

Peri,Mr Kandy works in IT all day so doesn't really like to start again when he gets home so I don't like to keep asking him for help.On the rare occassions he is ill they often ring him up to ask how to put things right.I don't know how they are going to manage when he eventually retires:D

Well we have rain this morning although it looks a bit brighter out there now so it looks like it will be a day of card writing and the last few of the prezzies wrapped ready for delivery.:)

Hope you all have a great day:luv:

    Good morning Penny and everyone.

I'm up early this morning due to the fact I couldn't sleep so here I am bright and early.Got up to thick fog but have just heard it raining outside so that means the the fog will soon be gone and no gardening today:p

Went to the newish garden centre that has opened up not far from us and as they have a farm food and butchery outlet there we were able to get stocked up on nice fresh fruit and veggies that we needed and also some nice meat.Much better than the rubbish that the supermarkets sell:D

After dinner we went off to the village school's Christmas Fair and ended up buying six brand new books that had been given by the local book people for £11 so though they were heavy to carry around by Mr Kandy we though they were a great bargain:thmb:

Spent the rest of the afternoon preparing the meat and veggies for our stew that we are having today and cooking some of our stored apples so that will all go down nicely:D

Hope you all had a good day yesterday and hope you have another good one today:)

    Good morning everyone,

rosa, enjoy your Christmas dinner :gnthb:

Kandy, what type of books were they?

Yesterday the weather was lovely and sunny on our journey down to Kent but quite cold. The rain started during the afternoon and the drive back last night was horrible. Local roads were flooded and the motorways had standing water on them because it was raining so hard. At times it was raining so hard that even with the wipers on high speed it was difficult to see the road and we were reduced to a crawl :(

It has been raining heavily all night here but is now only drizzling. So I hope todays driving to Suffolk is better :thumb: particularly as it will mainly be on minor roads.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Rosa and Shiney,

Don't know what happened there but I started typing and nothing would print on the screen unless it was invisible writing:D

Rosa, hope you have a good day with th xmas dinner and hope that everyone has a good time and that you don't get too tiddly with all that drink flowing:D

Shiney, sorry to hear that the weather was bad when you were trying to drive back home.We had lots of rain yesterday morning and a bit in the afternoon which we missed as we were indoors both times:D Forgot to say that the new garden centre we went to yesterday has an ice rink so everyone is taking their kids there from our village so they can have a skate while the mums and dads enjoy a nice hot drink in the warm:gnthb:

    The books Shiney are...

    Unbeaten.....Kim Woodburn £6.99..Mine
Professor Stewarts Hoard Of Mathematical Treasures:ywn::D £12.99..Mr Kandys
    Terry's Top Tips for WaterColour Artists...Terry Harrison..Mr Kandy's £9.99
    Great British Journeys...Nicholas Crane...£20...Mine and Mr Kandy's
    D & K Gardens of Britain and Ireland...Patrick Taylor...£14.99..Mine and Mr Kandy's
Grow Your Own Drugs..James Wong...£16.99...Mine and Mr Kandy's:)

So we think we did well there Shiney although qwe now have to find room for another six books:D

PS,Shiney I will let you add up how much the books would have cost if qwe had ahd to buy them at the right price in the shops but Amazon might have been cheaper...

Hope you both have a good day and safe travel:luv:
