    Morning friends :luv:
Just dashed in quickly as will be out all day. Firstly it's the dreaded passport interview then off to art therapy this afternoon. Loved my evening class last night, learning about some psychological things with a group of very interesting people. Now I have homework :hehe:
Rosa dear I thought the picture was a good resemblance :lollol:

    Happy October, everyone :gnthb:

Peri, I like the black and white photos. They ad an extra dimension to the view :thmb:. Kandy's link to info on Admiralty Arch tells you something about it but there are still arguments about whether it was used by the Navy originally. The Sea Lords were thought to have used it for their private offices and had living accomodation in it.

Kandy, I'm pleased your squash have done well :). Our's have done quite badly because of the drought down here - even with watering. The new outside melons we have been trialling grew fairly well but are quite seedy and not very tasty. :(

Helen, it wasn't cold whilst we were in Paris (22/23 degrees) but it was a little bit nippy at dawn. :)

We didn't go up the Eiffel Tower as the queues are always very long and the whole thing would take half a day - queuing, going up, looking around, queuing to come down etc.

I thought that the Eurostar was a pretty reasonable price for the journey. It cost us £85 per person return (including wrinklies discount :old:) but can be got cheaper if you pick the right days.

    Have a great day :D

    "Heavening all" as Strawman says!
Hahah Rosa, glad you take it all in good fun. It's a bit of banter :hehe:

Well what a busy day here - thought I'd nip in to say the passport interview went well [ I think] The interviewer asked me lots of questions, luckily I had memorised dates of parents births, marriage etc. I fluffed a couple of answers about our finances  We have several accounts but I couldn't remember the ones just in my name but she didn't seem too bothered and said I should get my passport in a few days so Eurostar here we come!! :gnthb:

I got all the food for our family Thanksgiving next weekend so i dont havr to go near a store next weekend:flag:

I will absolutley take some pics Strawman and show you what my house looks like for Halloween:thumb:, we have some little "creatures" that live in my neighborhood too:wink:, but they tend to leave things like that alone, thankfully:thumb:

Its another cool and rainy day here, really a typical Canadian fall day :gnthb:

Hello everyone... Shiney, the cost of going to Paris is at an amazingly all time low. When I first went to Lille it cost me well over £100 and to this I had to add the train fare for getting into London from here. The times they are a changing, thank goodness. I've seen the lovely photos of your trip, super!:thmb:

Rosa, those images you've put up for us to look at are a real scream, especially the two-legged horse, Whinny!.... By the way, I do hope that the baby is not a photo of someone's real child.:dh:

Jazmine, good to see that you're over your ordeal in getting your passport. Mind you, it's rather odd that they need to know your financial situation? Anyway, it's worth getting one just for the trip on the Eurostar train, got room for one more?:hehe:

Penny, I didn't realise that Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving like they do in the states? I guess that I learn something new everyday, in fact, I know I do because that's what comes of having so many friends here....:yho:

Well, enjoy whatever's left of your day, have a peaceful night's sleep in readiness for whatever tomorrow brings.

Hi Kathy, The last time I played arcade games was when I had an Amstrad back in the 1980s. I'm usually doing too many other things to play arcade games now. I did use a dual controller when my son had a XBox 360. He had one of the car racing games which I did actually enjoy. So, I'm not quite over the hill yet. tehe!!

    Morning Rosa and all.

Rosa you're up a little early honey trouble sleeping or just a busy day ahead?

Shiney I'm glad for you honey the weather was ok, I mean nippy at dawn we can all cope with that more so with a warm cuppa in side of us first to get our old bones working.:D

Those squashes that you so kindly sent me Shiney although they managed to grow pretty well I don't think I watered them as much as they needed so the fruits are really tiny but I will give them another go next year things....never give up lol!:hehe:

Lol Jazmine I think we all have a senior moment so your little muddle at the interview wouldn't matter too much. When I went to the hospital the other week they asked for my next of kin (which of course I said Bob) they then said & what relation is he to you poor bob walked away when I said 'Father' .....boy did it crack up the staff and I!:D
Thankfully he was talking to me again when I came out of treatment otherwise I would have needed to use a stick!:old:to walk with not to hit him with lol!:D

Well some of you may remember my woes with the RAC about not attending to Dan earlier on in the year, well they have redeem theirselves with us as both Dan broke down although he didn't need the RAC's help so bob took him to work and then he had to be brought home with the RAC! The guy not only told bob what was wrong with his car (I know they all do that) but also took Dan's for a spin & jacked it up & told Bob how to fix it!

A big thumbs up to the RAC from me!:gnthb:

Well a busy day of running backwards & forwards to attend to Bob's requests of endless cuppas while he mends the cars...good job I have a Handy Bob!:D

    Have a nice day guys.Hel.xxx

    Good morning rosa and everyone,

I hope you all had a good night and are fighting fit for another lovely day. :gnthb:

Jazmine, I'm sure you will enjoy Paris. Eating out can be quite expensive :( but transport is cheap and good :thumb:. If you get a travel card, valid on buses and Metro, you only need zones 1 and 2 for all the main places in Paris. The direct train to the Palace of Versaille isn't covered by most travel cards but is only a short journey away.

    Have a great day :D

    Morning Helen :luv:

You posted whilst I had stopped typing in order to make a cuppa for Mrs shiney :). I hope you are now able to move around more with a lot less pain :thmb:

Sorry the squash didn't do well. Ours weren't too good but other people that I sent seeds to said theirs were good.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning everyone,:)

Its still cool here but no rain forecasted for today, so i might be able to get out and see if i have anymore peppers ready,.:thumb:

We celebrate our Thanksgiving a good month before the States has theirs:D, and everyone goes all out here with decorating their houses with corn stalks, pumpkins, mums, gourds, and it always looks nice.:thmb:

My inlaws went to Paris a year ago this Spring and liked it, found it to be a little expensive, but this late Spring, they did the Baltic Sea cruise, started in Sweden and ended up in Russia, for 5 days, but they stopped in Amsterdam overnight and decided to go to a sidewalk cafe for a coffee, and had 2 coffee's and 2 slices of pie, for 45 dollars!!:flag::flag:
Now that would have caused me to choke on my coffee when they brought they bill:dh::hehe:
