haha Leavesnbloom - we left Nova Scotia before Christmas one year, and haven't been back - ridiculous when the kids leave toys out in October, and they're not found till April when the snow melts!

evening everyone, the weather has been just dreadful here all day all the lovely snow has nearly gone its been windy and raining,
natalie and peri thanks will put the water colour pics up after i have done them maybe do them in febuary after hubby goes back abroad.
lovely to see new members posting here a warm welcome leavesbloom and looplou do enjoy gc.

 

It is in celsius :gnthb: and its really cold here tonight, its -37 with windchill and dipping into the -40's tonight:flag::flag::flag:......

My husband has family in Scotland, i guess what would be called the Highlands:thumb:

Well we are back from our short break away for xmas and we have had a fantastic time,although at times the weather could have been better,but that didn't put us off going out each day and finding plenty of snow to walk and photograph,so all in all we had a good time:D

Have lots of the usual stuff to do after going away so will have to catch up with everyone as and when I can

Still a little bit slippery under foot though. Been watching the tits, blackbirds and thrushes at the feeders.

Now got to go out to the shops and spoil it, friends and family birthday cards needed.

Peri,we had a great time away thanks, although the paths round the site were lethal

I have filled a 4gb card with photo's in that nine days and then started on another one with all my photo's.We went for a walk round the Chatsworth Estate Christmas afternoon and I got some cracking photo's{well I think they are cracking:D}of the Stag Fallow Deer that roam round the Estate which was nice

Hope you and your OH had a really good xmas and do make the most of it before your OH has to go back up to Glasgow.We had some bad weather when we were packing up and travelling home so I do hope the travelling goes better for him on Tuesday:thumb:We have had a heavy frost overnight and it is bitter out there,but it is nice with the sun shining.

By the way,we have had a pair of Reed Buntings in the garden this morning.It looks like my visiting male has brought his lady partner to spend some time in the garden feeding up

Its -33 here and snowing and blustery out.

 

Good Morning <cough> where does the time go! its afternoon now.

Been watching all the wildlife in the garden this morning - mallard ducks flew in for some food, mistle thrush and song thrush, blackbirds, Mr Robin, chaffinches and sparrows along with the wood pigeons.

Trying unsuccessfully to take photos of the birds - I need to move everything closer to the house so I can get good photos - the zoom does not produce clear ones at all.

Its still snowing here and in the last 24 hours, we have gotten a foot and a half of snow now, and some roads are closed here too.
