    Good morning everyone,

It is thick fog here this morning so won't be nice for Mr Kandy when he drives to work:(

I don't know what I have done to this computer but I shut it down yesterday mornin g and when i went back to it yesterday tea time the writing looks slightly blurred and the writing has come out thick:pIt looks like I am looking at it through a goldfish bowl and when I write out emails i lose the words at the end of the line and so have to stretch the page to be able to read it:(bxxxxy computers:oops::p

Anyway, one of me guppies had some babies yesterday so I had to spend over an hour making sure she dropped them ok without the other bigger guppies eating them:oops:It is truly amazing watching this little roll up ball pop out of mum, then spring open and then drop into the gravel where it sits quietly while it recovers and the nice thing is they can feed straight away so don't have to be spoon fed by mum so to speak:D

Had a nice village walk again last night although it was bit windier than the night before so we wrapped up warm:)

I am just off to do my porridge, will have it with bluberries, strawberries and a sprinkling of cinnamon:D

Hope you all have a great day in all that you do:)

    Good morning everyone,

It is so frosty out there that it looks as though it has been snowing. No walkies for me this morning :hehe:.

Kandy, it sounds as though the fog has got to your computer. As I don't know too much about computers the first thing I normally do is restart it and see how it goes. If that doesn't work I then run all the antivirus/malware/spyware programmes to see whether a nasty has got to it. If that doesn't sort it out I then shout 'helllllp!' :)

I've got all our insurances (house, contents, cars etc) due soon, so today is telephone day. I shall phone round about a dozen different insurance companies (only those with freephone numbers) and see whether they can quote better than my renewal notices. Then phone my insurance people and tell them where I can get a better price. They always end up matching it so I don't have to fill in any new forms :gnthb:. I shall draw up a little chart and enter the details on it. I'm not keen on the comparison websites because they don't usually have the info that I want but I shall look at them too.

I'm still waiting for the 'guzzle machine' to turn up and empty our cesspool. So I bet he turns up today so that I have to stand around out in the cold showing him what to do and making sure he doesn't make a mess :(.

Ah well! Kandy, I don'r suppose you have done enough porridge for me so I suppose I shall have to make it myself :hehe:

    Have a great day :D

Good morning everybody - frosty here again this morning!

Glad the guppies have survived well Kandy - always interesting watching any kind of new life begin! Your porridge sounds good..... yum :) Love blueberries!

Shiney - glad you don't go by the comparison sites - they tend to not include all of the providers anyway - so could be losing out on some good deals that way.

My 18 yr old has to work again today - one of the full time workers at the bistro he's at had a minor car accident and is booked off for a few days. The chef has called him in the last two days to help out in the kitchen, and today as well - as he's on half term break. Keeps money rather than out spending it - so have told him he needs to plan something fun with friends for Friday :) I think they might be planning another paintballing session - brave of them in this weather, as the paintballs get quite hard!

Everybody wants to go out for a bike ride this morning - so I'm hoping it warms up a little first :)

Have a great day everybody :)

Morning all...a hard frost here in Cumbria also so I think I'll spend today playing in the greenhouse.

Kandy, I used to keep fish and remember well how easily Guppies breed...and Platties too!

    Natalie, enjoy your bike ride.

Shiney, try this site for freefone numbers http://saynoto0870.com/

    Have a great day everyone!

Something strange is happening here:scratch:.I put up a post on the weather thread and then changed a spelling mistake on my earlier post from this morning then when I went to type in this box every time I tried typing nothing happened, although I could type emails etc.:cnfs: I have had to shut it all down and start again:help:

Anyway, good afternoon everyone:).I still have problems with viewing things on the computer,it is almost like I am definetly looking through fog or mist as I try to view things written on the screen and even the smilies look like they are squashed and are out of focus.:(It is only as I look at the screen that I get the problem, everything else in real life is ok.:D

I have an appointment on Saturday along with Mr Kandy to have our eyes tested so will tell the people testing my eyes and see what they say. When I told them I have got betes, the lady making the appointments wanted my Dr's name so they can check to see if I am genuine I expect.:D

Shiney,I told Mr Kandy about my computer problem when he got in from work and he looked at the screen and said 'I don't know what you have touched on the computer to do that to the writing' and then walked off:(I don't like tampering with anything so I will just have to kick him a bit harder until he has a look at it:hehe:

Natilie, why do all those people at the winter olympics shake cow bells for?It does my head in and I had to turn the volume down in the end:D

Steve, we breed Endler guppies as they are nice fish although no one wants the females as they are drab looking. Our local fish shop takes the babies off of us and often we have goods instead of cash. The Platties are nice as well but it takes so long for the babies to get a good size before he wants them.At least they have markings from day one of birth:)We just got rid of some nice Plume Tailed Platties and when I went back two days later for some Phosguard he had sold them all:p

One of my favourite fish is the Blue Ram,as they look like Marine fishwith the markings.Unfortuneatly we had ours die before xmas and as our fish man doesn't have heating in his shop won't have any more in until the warmer weather and they prefere softer water that other fish.Sorry for boring you all,I will shut up now:D

I have to go now as I want to go upstairs to get some photos of all the snow before it melts tonight:)

    Afternoon friends :luv:

I made my own porridge (well, readybrek) but had nothing on top of it

:lollol: at Natalie on a bike, is there anything you won't do :rocksn: :hehe: after the sledging biking will be a doddle......

It's wet, grey and nasty here but I am off tonight to see Les Miserables. My sister in law and friend are going too. Our hubbies wanted nothing to do with it :cnfs:

Kandy - I had to wonder the same about the cow bells! I first thought it was only the Germans - they seemed to have alot of them at the downhill skiing, but see that the Canadians have them too in a smaller version, the German ones are humungous! I went onto the Hudsons Bay site online, (want to get hubby a Team Canada hockey jersey) and they were selling cow bells on there. My friend is fuming at the cost of things - apparently a bottle of water (that is 59 cents at the 7-eleven stores) is $5.00 at any of the Olympic venues! What a rip :(

Jaz - have a great time tonight - the show and the company :)

Found a short break in the drizzle this morning - but now doing the laundry of all the mud sprayed clothing.......gotta love these bikes with no mudguards :(

    Good morning Rosa and everyone,

Natilie those cow bells are silly, can't really see the point of them, but I suppose it is a bit like the rattles we used to have when we used to watch football matches when i was a youngster.Everything is a rip off these days, wait until the olympics come to London in 2012 everything down there will cost triple in price as it is a captured market.Someone will make loads of money out of it they always do:p

Rosa, sounds like you have been busy.Pity I don't live nearer I could have had your carboard boxes for the allotment.I either use them to start bonfires when I have branches and weeds to burn or else I soak them with water and add them to our compost bags for rotting down:)No the computer is still the same so will have to ask Mr Kandy nicely to see if he can sort things out as I don't like looking at the screen when it isn't right:p

Well we had a lovely surprise last night at bedtime.Mr Kandy happened to look out of the bedroom window to see if it was still snowing and then started shouting for me to come and look and when I got there, there was a Badger trotting along our lane:yho::yho::yho:.We have never in all our years seen a live badger, only dead on the roads so it was a really nce surprise to see one although we have heard before they have been seen in the village. The builders put up badger fencing all round the farmers fields to keep them out supposidly but the idiots forgot that the badgers only need to walk through the two entrances into the village, without any need to climb over fences:dh::D

Anyway,it is like a winter wonderland out there this morning so want to get out with my camera at first light. We had our usual village walk last night but had to cling on to each other a bit as we walked through the snow and we looked like snowmen when we got back:D

Hope you all have a good day and a safe one if you have to go out in it:)

    Good morning everyone,

It's a bit peculiar out there this morning. It is very frosty in the front garden and raining in the back . I don't suppose it will last long.

Oh well! I didn't get around to phoning any of the insurance companies. Instead I received a phone call that I needed to go to a big hotel near us for a site meeting. I'm one of a group of people organising a big awards ceremony in October (no, not the Oscars :hehe:) and the production company wanted to see the venue. It was highly technical and I had trouble understanding a lot of the terminology they were using :dh:.

I'll try the phoning today if I don't get called away again :(.

Steve, thanks for the link :thumb:. I already have that one but now get free 0870 calls in the evenings and at weekends - it comes with the phone line package that we have the internet linked to.

Kandy, have you tried a 'restore' on the computer? That might sort the problem out while you wait for Mr K to check your computer. It can't do any harm because you can always remove the 'restore'.

Jazmine, I'm sure you enjoyed the show :thmb:. It's one of my favourites :).

Natalie, cycling???? Is that one of those things they call 'exercise'? :hehe:

    Hi, roders :gnthb:

penny, when does it start to warm up over there? :cnfs:

rosa, it sounds as though you are getting your place sorted out quite quickly :).

    Have a great day :D

    :dh::dh:Good morning everyone,:)

Its -1 here and supposed to be a nice day here, lets hope so. :gnthb:

They have been doing the cowbells at winter olympics now for years, i remember when they were in Norway in the 90's and thats all they heard.:thumb:

The price for a water bottle doesnt surprise me:dh:, Vancouver is the most expensive city in Canada with Toronto coming in second.

They are saying here that for Mens Hockey and if Canada makes it to the Gold medal game, tickets are selling for $38 thousand a seat!:dh:! Geez that price, would pay off the remainder of my mortgage:wink:, and i can see it just as well on my flat screen!!:thmb:
