    Good morning Woo,Rosa and everyone,

Still white out there and our next door neighbour has just tried to get rid of the snow on her car with her wipers so she can go to work and has found the windscreen frozen underneath:hehe: She and her hubby went down to London for the weekend and his brother came up here to babysit the dog and was shocked to see we had snow as it was raining down there in the smog. They were glad of the peace and quiet up here though which was a bonus:p

Woo,hope you enjoy your walk this morning and that your weather is ok:thmb:

Rosa, nice to hear you are getting your yard sorted, just in time for the good weather and the heatwave when it comes in the summer:gnthb:

Shiney, sorry that you were having to stay indoors all day.Nothing worse than being stuck within four walls.Hope you won the tounament after all that:D

Well Spring must be on it's way as we saw our first Spring lambs yesterday afternoon but we were on a fast road so couldn't stop to get piccy's as there were no laybys close by:(

Lovely to hear that Colin Firth has got best actor award for A Single Man:luv::gnthb:

We have more snow forecast for this week but I can't remember when it is supposed to get here:p

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

It started snowing half an hour ago with great big fluffy flakes. Everything is already covered and it looks lovely out there :thumb:. Fortunately I don't have to go out this morning. I do have to go out tonight so I shall see how the roads are by then.

It was a good tournament yesterday and I played two big matches. Won one :thmb:, lost one :( :D

    Keep snug everyone :)

    Have a great day :D

Good morning everybody - back to work for me today -and it's raining, and the kids have an inset day - so needless to say, not aot of work getting done.

Had a pleasant surprise this morning making a coffee in the kitchen - looking out at the bird feeding station, and there was a greater spotted woodpecker! Was gorgeous looking and busy there for a good few minutes. I have a couple of feeders on there that are literally pieces of branches with 1-1/2 inch holes drilled into them and stuffed with suet and seed......it was happily hanging on there doing his thing :)

I put up some birdfeeders on Saturday - and the one I can see from the kitchen has had several bluetits visiting it and checking out the new possibilities - so fingers crossed :)

Well, it's a late pop in for me. I have been out most of the day. I went to WW and had lost another 3 pounds so that is 8 pounds total. Only another stone or two to go....:dh:

It has been a wet, cold, snowy day here and did not help my shopping at all :hehe:

Hope everyone is well and having a pleasant evening. Natalie what on earth is on your avatar? I burst out laughing every time I see it.

Good morning Rosa Woo and everyone,

Shiney glad to hear that you won a match but shame you lost one:pI'm looking forward to starting on the recipes and even Mr Kandy says he is looking forward to eating what I make as well:gnthb:Will just have to make sure I don't go mad and eat too many of them at once though:p

Rosa, hope all goes well with the fortune teller on Friday and your night out with the girls on Saturday:gnthb:

Jazmine, well done on losing the three pounds this week.:thmb:I am losing mine at a steady pound a week and keep mine down in my signature so I can remind myself how I am doing. If you lose it slowly then you are more likely to keep it off, though i think you already know that:)

Natilie, nice to see you are starting to learn about our english birds.although it is Great Spotted Woodpecker not Greater Spotted Woodpecker:)Another forum I belong to have photos put up by members from all round the world and it is good to see the different species of birds that come to their garden feeders, some i have never even heard of let alone see photos of them:)

Anyway,We still have snow on the lawns back and front so won't be able to start me mowing yet:D.Have to keep checking the plants in the greenhouse though to make sure they are still ok with this freezing cold weather and I think we are due for some more snow later on in the week:)

    Have a good day all:)

    Good morning everyone,

Snow gone, slight frost, gentle breeze, dry and, with a bit of luck, we shall have sunshine.

It's going to be a quick scroll through the forum today as I have an early meeting this morning. Then I'm off to help Barry fill in some benefits forms and in the afternoon I have the bridge club to run.

I started yesterday to phone around for insurance quotes. I tried Churchills first and told them I want quotes for two cars and house and contents. The quote for the first car was 40% higher than my renewal notice so I said "forget it". He then said to me "Right, now give me the details of the second car" and I said "You must be joking!" He didn't seem to understand that I didn't want to waste time on any more quotes.

    Have a great day :D

Thanks for the correction Kandy - appreciated :) But......no, this was one really was greatER - as it was my first one that I've seen there :) The next time it shall jsut be 'great' :) I do miss my hummingbirds - they are just amazing to watch and would always come to the window nectar feeders. We live in a heavily wooded area, so there is no shortage of birds down here :)

Shiney you should've mentioned that you thought the original quote WAS for both cars at that price!

Rosa - sounds like you are keeping yourself busy - with lots more to do as well! You will so enjoy it in the summer (when we get it!).

Woo - do you ALWAYS get up before the rest of the country? You are always up so early!

Well, ready to take the kidlets to breakfast club, and get started on today's work.

    Have a great day everybody!

Oh, Jazmine - how's Mat doing? Hopefully he's on the mend and feeling a little better?

Morning all, cold and frosty here today again....still it promises to be nice and sunny as its blue skies with just a hint of white.

I had a bonfire in the garden yesterday (in an aluminium bin) to finally recycle all old unwanted/unuseable bits of wood from around the garden, I managed to keep it going all day and it was still smouldering this morning. Had a little stir round to fish out unburnt bits, place those back in and relit to finish them off. I'll have half a bin of ashes for later use in the garden this summer. I'm just not sure if I should mix it in to the soil or use it as a top dressing.

Hopefully Anne and I are going out for lunch today depending on how she feels when she gets up...she's been up most of the night. In the meantime I'll carry on in the garden with a multitude of little chores I have.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Steve...:)
