Jazmine, I always have my whip ready! :hehe:

Steve, It doesn't really matter whether you leave the ash on the surface or dig it in. If it is a thick layer on the surface then it would help to stop the weed seedlings germinate but you haven't got enough for that. It is good for promoting leaf growth - and snails and slugs don't like it (the best reason for leaving it on the surface :thmb:.

    Natalie, :hehe: :hehe:

Rosa, have a good night out at the weekend but don't have to much drink as you know how it upsets your head and your walking, hic:D

We had more snow yesterday, and then last night had fog before we went to bed but the snow has stopped now and the fog has all gone thankfully.:)

Sat and watched the ladies Ski Cross on the telly last night:) as it was snowing too much to go out walking:(

Hope you all have a great day:)

    Good morning Kandy and everyone,

It looks as though we may be in for floods over the next few days. The rivers around here are almost up to the top of their banks with some of the streams already spreading across the fields. The weather forecast is rain, some of it very heavy, right through the weekend.

Lots of things to do, places to go, people to see :hehe:.

    Have a great day :D

Have a great night out Rosa - looks like you've done loads and loads of work in your new home and deserve a break!

I watched the Ski Cross too Kandy - I have really enjoyed events on that course - the snowboarding was great too.

On Sunday night there is a club in London that has a Canadian Manager - he's opening up the clubhouse free of charge to 50 people to watch the gold medal hockey game - in hopes of course, that Canada is playing in it - fingers crossed big time for that one. They have a 12 foot high HD screen - so I have reserved three tickets for hubby and the two older boys to go. Also on a list for tickets for the game being shown at Canada House - but think the one in the club would be a bit more relaxed and fun rather than sending them to the consulate!

Busy week with work this week - always lots of catch up to do after a week off for half term. We got a bit of really wet snow yesterday, but certainly nothing that stuck to the ground at all. Today is just gray, drizzly and a good day to stay inside and get to work :)

Have a great day everybody :)

Good morning all, even if it is a little late. I hope you don't mind me popping in! I got caught up reading everyones weather reports and thought I'd mention that I've woken up this morning to a few inches of snow on the ground! Have been running around checking the pipes and moving various pots to more sheltered places in the garden and moved the seedlings currently on windowsills, away from them. There is ice on the inside again, brr!

My dog is most miffed at mummy not taking her out until it settles down a bit out there and I'm still trying to dry out our floor boards, following the huge water leak we've had. Roll on Monday when work to fix the radiators begins!

Hope everyone has a fab day and doesn't mind me popping in!

Back to the warm coffee for me!

I hope that rain does not come to us here...the last thing Cockermouth needs right now is more floods. It would have to be quite severe rain of course to repeat what happened last November..but right now we dont need floods at any level as we have divers working to fix up bridges so they can be reopened.

On a lighter note, I nearly killed myself yesterday..:lollol: I started digging a hole to prepare it for an apple tree...got 1 spit down and hit the main electricty supply cable...:hehe:. Thankfully I did not illuminate like a Christmas tree and the power in the house is still working..:yho: I guess I'll have to find somewhere else for the 2 trees to go! Reminds me of an old joke.

"I was drilling a hole to hang a picture, when I drilled through a gas pipe, next I drilled through an electricty cable which set the gas on fire..but luckily as I continued drilling I hit a water pipe which put the fire out."

"Health and Safety" Whats that all about..:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Have a good day everyone!

    Steve...:)
