    Good morning everybody!
Wellcome Maddie - doesn't sound like you've had an easy week of it! Hope the weather settles for you and you can get back to normal.

I'm absolutely exhausted this week - been up watching too many Olympics in the night - but watching Canada win hockey over the Russians this morning was good :) Felt bad for the one skater the other night whose mother had flown in to see her skate, and unexpectedly died from a heart attack. The skater skated her heart out and ended up winning bronze. Must've been very emotional at the event.

Well off to take the kids to school and get to work for the day.

Grey sky, drizzle......hoping it will brighten up a little :)

Oh, the water leak, no heating and no hot water has been going for abut 8 weeks now.. so well used to it lol but thank you anyway.

I suffer from insomnia so have loved having the Olympics on at night. Bobsleigh had some nasty crashes last night, some real "eeek!" moments.

Few inches of snow here with more on the way I think, the sky certainly looks full of it.

A full day of writing articals for websites for me. About Granite worktops, no less. Snore!

Well, it's almost morning so good morning everyone :)

It's been a very busy day today and I have only just returned from being out all day.

We had a rather interesting bit of driving along a mile of river :(. It was a country lane between two villages and as we came around a bend the road was covered in water. Mrs shiney said that we should turn round (not very easy on a single track road) but I said that it probably clears once we have got round the bend as the police haven't put a 'Road closed' sign up.

The water was only half way up the wheels so I drove slowly round the bend, then the next bend, then the next bend etc. At one stage there was a very fast running stream rushing across the road.

Eventually we came to where the road didn't have running water and we could see the back of a sign. As we went past it we looked back to see what it said. "Road Closed, Flood". They just hadn't bothered to put one at the other end .

Ah well! Maybe we will have a chance to do some sunbathing over the weekend. :hehe: :rotfl:

    Have a great day :D

    Morning Shiney Rosa and everyone,

Shiney sounds like ity was a bit hairy for you and Mrs Shiney with that water half way up the wheels, but glad that you made it safe to the other end,but typical of people to only put the sign one end:(Glad you hade a good day out though:)

Rosa, glad that you are getting settled in your new flat and i bet it looks nice now that it is finished. The Ark Royal sounds nice and it will be good to get lots of photos of this great ship:)Good luck with the fortune teller and make sure she tells you the numbers of this weeks lottery numbers so we can go out and get a ticket:D

Anyway, had a nice phone call from one of my sisters yesterday afternoon and it was nice to have a good long chat and we had a good laugh at times:D

We have rain here since yesterday teatime and the snow has all but gone apart from a small pile out the front on the grass verge,so now we are back to seeing the green grass and my spring flowers:)

Hope you all have a great day in all that you do:)

Wow Shiney, you must've been wondering if you'd actually get through - no visibility to see if it would get deeper! Glad you got back safe and sound though. Went to get duck feed the other day and turned back on the country roads, just no telling how deep the puddles were and given it was at the low point of two hills......I went the main road route instead.

Hope you have a fantastic day and visit to the Ark Royal Rosa!

Phone calls with family you don't get to talk to everyday are great for the soul aren't they Kandy? I have free calls to Australia and Canada on my calling plan - great to be able to just pick up the phone anytime, or hang up when they call here and call them back :)

Maddie I'm looking forward to the Olympics being over to be honest - I'm so exhausted - OH and I stayed up last night to watch the women's hockey gold medal game - and we are seriously hoping the Canadian men have the same get up and go that the women had last night :) Really want to see them in a gold medal game on Sunday! Had recorded the ice skating which is on right now in the background.

Well, it's Friday of the work week - so I'd better get started :) Have a great day everybody :)

    Morning friends :luv:

Everyone sounds like they are having fun!
Welcome Maddie, it is good to meet you in here. As someone mentioned, the more the merrier!
OH is off to the gym here and I am bored and need to get out so will pop into Norwich for a couple of hours. Mat is back at work but arrived home last night in pain. His dad gave him a lift in this morning so he didn't have a long walk.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Good morning everyone.

It is raining here again and our last piece of snow is getting smaller so I expect it will be gone today:D I wonder if this is the end of the snow for us for this year or whether we have more to come now that we are nearly in to March:scratch:I want to get started properly on the seed sowing and getting over to the allotment but with all this rain that is out of the question:(

Hope you all have a good day in all that you do:)

We are forecast snow here in Cumbria for Sunday/Monday Kandy so I dont think MN has finished with us just yet, but we have been quite lucky really...having had nothing more than an inch here in Cockermouth..or a few inches on the fells.

Hope everyone is okay and has a great weekend.

    Steve...:)
