Good morning everybody :) Well, it's not raining, or snowing......but it's very overcast and dull out there today.

OH has gone down to the school to get an early start on the refreshments for the players, and I'm just heading out to go give a hand - it's a reasonable amount of boys today 120 of the - so along with parents - that's about 160 - 180 bacon butties to go make :) and then that is it for the season now (well, for school rugby anyway :) )
We are awaiting results on Monday by email as to high school allocation for my 11 yr old - really really geared up on getting the same school, so fingers crossed big time!

Kandy I want to get into our allotment as well, but think I'd be knee high in mud as it's been raining so much. A neighbour has one there too and we're thinking about going down together tomorrow for a bit. I have some toms and peppers started on teh window sill, but the toms have gotten too leggy - still too early :( but the peppers are doing well!

    Have a great day everybody!

    Evening friends :luv:

I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing evening, I am :hehe:
I went into Norwich today and saw potato growing bags and bought two, a bird nesting house [yes another one!!] and enjoyed looking at all the gardening stuff now arriving in the shops.
I hope that is the end of the snow :old:

    Morning(ish) everyone!

Wow, I'm feeling for you with all that snow and cold weather Penny. We had -18 with a foot of snow and several inches of ice over everything not long ago. Bitterly cold with no hot water and no heating!

I have a friend from Manchester staying this weekend. It has been lovely to catch up as we so often feel lonely up here with no family or friends for hundreds of miles. He also bought up the latest additions to my Reptile Collection - a Royal Python called Stumpy and a Crested Gecko called Korma, so I am a very happy girly indeed!

Currently sat munching peanuts and watching the Ice Skating Gala after a long day. Had a lovely dog walk this morning in the snow, Tiggy just loved all those foot deep slush mud puddles in the hedgerows!

    Good morning Maddie,Woo and everyone:cnfs:

Lovely crocus flower Woo,nice and cheery first thing in the morning.:thmb: I'm not thinking that far ahead Woo to the end of March as I shall feel as If I am wishing the time away and it goes too fast as it is:D

As it was miserable weather yesterday we decided to nip to the garden centre and finally got our seed spuds and Mr Kandy put them out in boxes yesterday to help them chit,so all we need now is some decent weather so we can get them in soon.:D Bought a nice double Niger xmas rose and also a pot of snowdrops which had tiny flowers so had to have them.I am turning into a Galanthophile me thinks, alhough there is one named after me but I am not paying £18 for one bulb despite the nice colour:(

Also got a very large Cymbidium Orchid thta was starting to go over in their plant sale, priced down from £65.99 to £15,three pots of minature roses for a £1 each from £2.99 and a Stephanotis priced from £9.99 down to a £1 so all in all I think we did all right there:D:thmb: and I shall make four rose bushes out of each pot as that is how many cuttings were in each small pot.It just shows how much money these garden centres are making out of us:(

Saw some more Spring lambs on the way home which was nice, also saw quiety a bit of flooding as well from all the recent snow we have had and it is raining heavily now as I type this with more to come:(

Jazmine good luck with the potato bags and do let us know how you get on with them. What variety of spuds are you growing?:)

Natilie don't forget to take your camera to the alloment next time you manage to get down there and then we can see what it looks like:thmb:I am eager to get started on mine now as I get fed up being cooped up like this when the weather is rubbish:(

Sorry for the long post and will try for a shorter one next time.:hehe:

    Morning friends :luv:

Can't wait for spring now. I can see the spring flowers appearing but we need some sunshine to bring them out now. We have a park in Norwich that is a real sight to see when the crocus all open out.
Kandy last year I went to the farm shop to get my seed potatoes-my dad chose them as he has worked on the farms. I don't have a clue really :hehe: I went to see him today and gave him one of my bags as a pressie and I will get another for myself. He was so excited [doen't take much to please him] He has a glass greenhouse and grows lovely toms and cucumbers!

Rain, rain and more rain here - time to do more clearing up now.

    Good morning everyone,

It is very cold out there but we have some beautiful sunshine.

We were away for the weekend on a freebie tour of a new large Italian passenger ship that is due to be named in Hamburg next week and Sophia Loren will be naming it. It is the MSC Magnifica. The weekend was for travel agents and press to preview the ship and we were invited as guests of a large travel agency for whom I do some writing.

There were about 3,000 of us for the weekend with free food and drink and the shipping company doing its publicity thing with seminars for the agents. We didn't go to these but lazed around pigged out. Apart from the food and drink there were shows in their theatre in the evenings, lots of lounges with different types of music (some with dancing), a casino (also free) and a disco that went on until about 4 a.m.

As there must have been at least 2,000 young, mainly female, travel agents on board enjoying their free drinks it got quite noisy at times :hehe:.

The food on Friday evening wasn't particularly good as this was the first time that some of the crew had been on board and the first time the kitchen staff were cooking on this ship. By Saturday night they had got their act together and the food was good.

We had one of the smaller cabins but it was well designed and decorated nicely. The decor of the ship was superb but a bit over the top in places - very plush, lots of brasswork and an enormous amount of beautiful marble from Italy.

As the ship remained docked in Southampton we didn't have to worry about getting seasick :hehe: and had a lovely view of Ikea :rotfl:. We still had to take our passports with us .

A lot of things to catch up on now.

    Have a great day :D

    haha Roders!

Shiney that sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I guess having to have your passports was just a 'security' measure? Or.....was it in case you decided to venture off and went INTO Ikea? lol

I'm absolutely exhausted this morning - stayed up last night to watch the great hockey game between Canada and the US - and the evenness of the plays, the shots on goal etc., just evidence that the right two teams were in the game. Nailbiting tension in the last minute when US tied it up with a fantastic goal........but celebrations in overtime when Canada got in with a great one themselves. Kids were tired this morning....so maybe an early night for them tonight?

Well, time to get onto some work for the day - have a great Monday everybody :)
