    Morning friends :luv:
I just love the wakey wakey thread :hehe:
Like you Natalie I had Kandy down as probably early 30s with young children :cnfs: It just shows how we can get the totally wrong impressions of people online. I think it was because of all your activities, allotment, walking etc I had you as a youngster - I am 58, cannot wait for a bus pass so I can travel everywhere free. I am definitely mad as the people who have met me can vouch for! :hehe:

Shiney, another easy day for you I see. I have art therapy yippee at 10.30 today then Morrisons for the weekly shop as it is right near to where I go.
Have a lovely day everyone :)

    Morning Natilie and Jazmine,

You two do make me smile.:)Mr Kandy is five years older than me{I know,I know I married an older man:D} I started work on my fifteenth birthday and worked solidly for 34 years with only a six week break between jobs when i was made redundant{Me and Mr Kandy worked for the same company}Luckily I now have thirty four years of National Insurance Contributions{We now only need thirty}so will get more pension than what they pay out at the moment. We was supposed to be retiring within a few months of each other but because the age was changed if I get another job then Mr Kandy will be seventy by the time I retire{thats if we both live that long}although if successive goverments get their way our generation and the following generations will work until they drop:( We could now do with the high interest rates that we had in the eighties as my friends had a good return for putting away their money and are now enjoying having holidays every other month:p

I still enjoy gardening allotmenteering, walking cycling, birdwatching, photography, nature etc,and in my younger days walked up Ben Nevis,Snowdon,Scarfell Pike,Ben Lawers,Coniston Old Man and a few others, despite having height fright:pMy favourite walking is Coastal, one reason why I love Wight so much.:D

Jazmine you are a wrinklie compared to me:old::D and why are you not driving?I only passed my test a few years ago and love it much better than the 50cc i used for eighteen years:p

By the way, that is me in my avatar on our wedding day and in September we will be celebrating our Pearl Wedding Anniversary with luck somewhere in Snowdon, perhaps on the top of it perhaps not:thmb:

Now I had better go and get on with my exercises and let you two get on with your day.Have a good one:)

Natalie, my mind wanders all the time :old: :hehe:.

Natalie and Jazmine, Kandy doesn't look her age and definitely doesn't act it :lollol: :flag:

I've just eaten a mango and am having a big bowl of porridge. That will keep me going for a while :). I don't often miss lunch but sometimes things get a bit hectic. I'm also working on my next charity fundraising event, on Tuesday, and shall pop round some of the business to cadge a few raffle prizes :thmb:.

Porrdige finished so time to get moving.

Have just come back from picking kids up from school - and saw a big noticeboard at the school saying 'if you live in Vigo, you may experience problems getting home today, please feel free to remain at the school, we shall remain open until safe for you to return'. Seems that a car bomb went off up there (top of our hill) around lunch time today - I did hear loads of sirens and a helicopter earlier - but as far as we know the mum and the toddlers are okay - a disgruntled ex was involved. Needless to say, kids aren't going up to the skate park this afternoon! Scary to think of a car bomb so close to home - yet some people deal with them alot closer every day :( Really hoping the mum and children are okay.

Have just learnt that it was a family from my children's school - the family of a young boy in year 3 - poor kid :( The mum stands to lose both of her legs - but was transported to hospital along with a doctor from the air ambulance, but went by road. One of the toddlers is being treated for hearing issues and shock, don't know whether or not she is still carrying the baby. The dad was a soldier not long back from Afghanistan.

One thing for sure - our primary school is tremendous when it comes to pastoral support - and I know that the whole school will embrace the little guy and the support from the school for him will be tremendous. Just trying to find out if there are still the 40 evacuees from nearby houses at the community centre - a friend up there said that they were all planning to stay the night - so might go up there with some blankets and stuff. So sad - I'll bet his fighting in Afghanistan has had some sort of an effect on him - and robbed this whole family of normal lives :(

I hope everyone is fit and well and enjoying their weekend, I'm posting early (or late) as I have a busy day tomorrow, shopping and pricking out seedlings. Its wonderful to see so much growth around the garden at the moment, new leaves and buds on a daily basis and lots of surprises as I walk around doing bits and bobs

I've collected two loads of well rotted horse manure, one of them I emptied the sacks into this old builders bulk bag. Its 5 years old, smells earthy and is a crumbly texture..no sign of manure or straw at all. At this age and description would it be ok for growing carrots in now...or do you think it will make them fork? I'm going back for more of this stuff to fill my compost area and another 12' x 3' bed I'm building..which will be for courgettes and squashes, I'm assuming it will also be okay for those too?

Have fun everyone and enjoy this warmer weather.

    Steve...:)

( Woohoo..I managed to post before Woo :hehe: )
