Only just got back online, our connection has been broken since sunday night...its still very slow...dial up speed. Out in the garden today, moving a path to make a new bed, yes another one :hehe:. This ones for squashes, courgettes, marrows + pumpkins and is right against the fence to my next door neighbour...wouldn't take much to chop the fence down and pinch a bit of garden...:lollol:

Have a nice day all, will catch up properly when connection speeds up a little.

    Steve...:)

    Good morning everybody :)

Been in bed lots the last couple of days with this rotten hacky cough/cold going around, kids home from school with tummy bug that's going around - yeuch :(

Lots of fundraising efforts being made too for the family (well, mother and children) from the bomb blast up here last week - but at least the husband is now remanded for trial and hopefully their lives are safe now!

Up early this morning to take two eldest boys to train - second eldest has an open visit day at Warwick University - has his offer there, now just to decide whether he likes the university and what it has to offer and make his choices. Thought I'd send older brother with him for a second opinion rather than Mum's though :)

Have a great day everybody :)

    Good morning everyone,

Jazmine I have to keep updating my signature as I am losing steadily, only did it yesterday and have had to do it again this morning:DWell done in losing some more as well:gnthb:

Natilie sorry to hear about your bugs in the family and hope you all start to feel better soon.Seems like there is a lot of it going around at the moment:(

I don't know whether it is just me but it feels quiet cold this morning, mind you just recently my hands seem to be feeling the cold a bit too much especially my fingers.Must be my age:p

The groundworks have started on the plot next door to us and yesterday morning was spent trying to locate the drains with no success so that was a waste but they made up for it in the faternoon by using a digger to remove all the trees and shrubs that have been growing round the edge as part of the landsacping for nine years. It is a shame when they have to destroy living trees:mad:

    Have a good day everyone:)

    Good morning everyone,

Steve, It's never good when your connection isn't up to standard :hehe:.

Jazmine, make sure OH is sitting down with a drink in his hand when you tell him :D.

Natalie, hope you feel better soon :thumb:.

Kandy, sorry to hear about the digging up of the trees :(. I hope that you get good neighbours :).

Our charity event went well yesterday and the charity should eventually end up with about £750 :yho:.

Now I've got to start working hard for our open day. My shoulder is playing up at the moment :old: :( but I shall take it a bit easier for a while.

    Have a great day :D

    Afternoon friends :luv:
I think I got away with it Shiney until I said "well Bedford is only 10 mins drive away from Essex :hehe: Our son and his girlfriend are meeting us at Champneys so it looks like a good couple of days away. Shiney you had better work hard ready for the queens visit :D

Natalie I hope you soon feel better, mums cannot be ill you know!
Dr.Mat had his pre op assessment yesterday, he was swabbed too to make sure the MRSA had gone. They will root around for the kidney stone and remove the stent poor Mat.
Kandy what a shame to have building going on. I hated it when they built on the old farm opposite us. Instead of bats and foxes we now have houses.
Hello to anyone who pops on later. :)

I suppose that royalty is allowed to tell a few porkies now and again. I guess that you are booked at the one in Henlow. It's only about 40 - 45 minutes from here so it was only a little lie. What's half an hour anyway? :hehe:

I've got the red carpet on order. :thmb:

    Good morning shiney :lollol:,

It is a bit dull out there at the moment but I think it will turn out nice.

I hope to get some more tidying up done in the garden. The ground is now pretty good for working with and I shall start to improve on the lawn edges. I've already been cutting them along the top of the edge but it should now be dry enough to get the sides and bottom of the edges back to a nice vertical edge :thumb:. I'll soon find out :).

I've raked some of the moss out of the main lawn so it is now only 50% moss :hehe:. I think that I shall have a nice bonfire today as there doesn't seem to be too much wind out there.

    Have a great day :D

Another late 'good morning' from me :) Been out driving in London for school meetings this morning - I HATE driving in London with a passion - taking half an hour to go 3 miles! grrrrrrrrrr ah well, back home working now and toasty warm :)

Looking forward to the weekend - as am feeling totally exhausted this week with this flu bug - but - can't complain.......there are loads who feel worse - but Jazmine - I think I really do 'feel' like my avatar looks right now :)

Son got his marks from a maths resit exam he did in January - a resit of his year 12 exam - was very pleased with his 99/100 - I claim he took all my brain cells at birth.....as some days I certainly don't feel like I have any left!

Gray nasty looking skies out there this afternoon - looking forward to nice warm springlike days - much nicer for a walk up the hill to pick up the kids from school!

Well, back to work - break over.....have a great rest of day everybody!

    Afternoon friends :luv:morning Shiney :hehe:

Shiney I will have the advantage as I will know you but you will just think I am a "lady guest" and I will ask you a lot of questions!! :lollol: I am getting sooo excited, I hope some other GC members can make it too. It would be lovely to meet likeminded people!
Penny glad to hear you are getting rid of that snow at last and Steve is enjoying the sunshine too.
Natalie that is excellent news re your son, my son took my brain cells - well that is my excuse for being daft. Warwick Uni is a fantastic uni to study maths.

Well I went into the garden and swept the path!

Broughton Road Bridge, 3 miles downstream of Cockermouth and will re-open next Monday.

Ahhh yes, on the far bank are about 60 bulk bags, half sharp sand, half ballast (left over from bridge repair). Its too expensive to collect apparently..so will be tipped onto river bank..I have permission to take what I need....

    Steve...:hehe:
