    Good morning Woo and everyone,

Lovely photos Woo,nice to see the old traditions being shown for all to see:gnthb:

Well we have voted so will be glad when it is over and Mr Kandy will always remember this birthday:hehe:Glad I don't live in those european countries that are having monetary problems at the moment and hope that we don't get affected by it although Mr Kandy has already had an email from his bosses telling him there won't be a wage rise on offer this year so we do know how the workers in Greece feel:(

Anyway, must go as I have exercises to do plus give Mr Kandy his prezzies and cards to open:)

Shobhna, lovely to see you back on here and hope you are ok:thmb:

    Good morning everyone,

woo, lovely photos :gnthb:. Is that a picture of you? :hehe:

Kandy, did you do a postal vote? I thought the polling stations didn't open until 7 a.m.
Unfortunately, the problems with the Greek, Portuguese and, possibly, the Spanish economies are bound to affect ours :(.
The deaths of those poor bank workers is appaling and I hope that the tragedy may stop some of the rioting. There have been warnings for many years that the Greek economy couldn't support all the corruption, fraud, tax evasion and stupid legislation that had been going on. There are dozens of things that have been going on that are obviously ridiculous. The 'black economy' (cash payments, not declaring income etc) has grown so large that they aren't getting enough money in to pay for services, even when they know what tax should be paid their tax department is so inefficient that they don't collect it, some politicians are being paid 16 monthly wage payments in a year!!!! :cnfs: (don't ask :hehe:), woman who work and then have children can get their pensions at the age of 50 (but there isn't enough money in the coffers to pay it), pension age varies depending on many factors etc.
Now they have a general strike that started on what is considered to be the start of the annual tourist industry that should be bringing in most of the country's income. How stupid can people get?

Sorry about the rant. apart from still having my chest infection I was woken up in the early hours with horrible cramp and am not feeling too kindly towards stupid people. :o

I got the glazing done in the greenhouse door with some help from Oscar although he seemed more interested in having his head scratched than in having the glass fixed k-lk-l

I think I shall walk (hobble) up the road later to try and get my leg to ease up. :(

    Have a great day :D

    Hi Shiney,

Sorry to hear about your leg cramp,we suffer with that from time to time so know how you feel and hope you feel better soon:luv:

Yes we did a postal vote, been doing that for a few years now as we got fed up with being acosted as we tried to get in the door to the polling station.I always vote as women died to make sure that would happen:p

I didn't like to mention to much about the other european countries as there are some expat members on here and I do hope that we don't get affected too much by it.Bang goes my moving down to Devon or my kitchen extension as we dare not take on any more mortage if things are going to get tighter here:mad:

Glad that the glass work went off ok and I know what you mean about cats getting in the way:hehe:

    Have a good day:luv:

Good morning - Rosa - great to see you back - hope you recover completely soon, and hope you've been able to enjoy some nice peaceful times in your new garden :)

Glad the greenhouse is repaired Shiney - Oscar will have the warmth of it again to enjoy :)

My two eldest are excited they get to vote, too bad their vote won't have any effect in our constituency - we have the choice of:

One of the most expensive MP's in parliament (at one point was joint number 1 in terms of cost!) and who seems to have very little concern about local matters - all his concerns seem to be based overseas!

One who just got into politics late last year due to her disgust at the expenses scandal - so absolutely no experience, and whose main focus is equality for women and getting rid of censorship (she's an award winning porn producer - so the censorship would do her business well)

The other major contender was done for drunk driving after hitting a roundabout in her vehicle a week and a bit ago......lots of respect for the laws there eh?

However, a friend posted on facebook this morning : I have voted for the Volcanic Ash Party - they have done more in five days to stop illegal immigration, pollution and drug trafficking then any other party in history.......

Hope everybody has a good day!

    Good late afternoon everyone,

Just got back from the dentist from having my new crown fitted. For the prices they charge {NHS}I could have had a real one made.Good job I didn't have to pay private as it would have cost an arm and a leg plus a bit more:pand that is without the money I had to pay out the other week as well.No wonder I have friends walking round with big gaps in their gums:D

Rosa, lovely to see you back on here:luv::gnthb:I expect it will take you some time to catch up on all the emails that was sent you over the last few weeks.:)

Well,I can't have anything to eat for two hours so will go and find something to do while I am waiting.:p

Mr Kandy has a few more cards to open when he gets in from work tonight, and I have spent a few minutes working out who they are from by the handwriting on the envelopes:hehe:

    Have a good evening everyone:)

    Good morning everyone,

Was up early this morning to listen to the results of the Election. It will be interesting to see what will happen to all those pople who were turned away from the polling stations, although I don't know why with the stations open for 15 hours there was plenty of time to vote:scratch::cnfs: It looks like it will be a hung parliment so will have to wait and see how that benefits all the working class peasants of this country:D

Anyway,it is a but dull out there today and rain is forecast for tomorrow so will see hwo it goes as we are hoping to go out for the day tomorrow and then on Sunday we have been invited next door for dinner with our neighbours so looking forward to that especially as our host is a chef:p

Rosa, hope you heal quickly.I can reccomend physiotherapy work for neck and back problems, you might want to look into that as I have found it beneficial to my compressed nerve problem:D

    Have a good day everyone:)

Hi all. Feeling distinctly groggy, having stayed up to watch what has turned out to be rather a damp squib of an election. Still, the cat is pleased. He got breakfast at five this morning. The trouble is, he'll expect it at that time regularly from now on .....
