Good afternoon everybody and Happy happy Friday!

Feel like I've abandoned this place lately - but you know how it is - once the weather gets decent you're out in the garden rather than discussing it! Disappointed in the forst the last couple of mornings, should've put some fleece over the grapes as the new young leaves that have emerged in the week or so prior have died off......ouch :(

Tadpoles still all over the pond - but eager to get them to grow into frogs so that they can move on and we can redig the pond and get it finished off the way I want it done.

Haven't had a chance to read through all the missed posts, but hope that everybody is doing well, on the mend and most of all.....happy :)
    Happy Friday everybody!

    Good morning Woo and everyone

My OH has entrusted me with his camera! Not sure I dare use it, though ... I'm sure it will get thoroughly inspected for signs of cruelty ...

    Good morning everybody :)

Looking somewhat decent out there - good thing - our local hospice has their annual spring fair which I'm just about to make some brownies for, one of my sons is volunteering there as well, so taking the little guys down. They usually have a plant stall as well, so will no doubt come home with some work to be done!

Hope everybody has a good one and enjoys their day no matter what you're doing!

    Good morning everyone,

I've not had much time to get on here lately as we are so busy. We have people coming today to pick up their hanging baskets that Mrs shiney has been doing for them - about 10, I think. She'll be going off to someone's garden this weekend to plant up their tubs as well and someone else is coming to pick up about 50 plants today. This will give more room in the greenhouse that Mrs shiney is desparate for :gnthb:

I spent another 5 hours finishing off the pressure hosing yesterday :thumb: and I shall just give everything a quick rinse just before open day. I'm not too happy with the way some of the paving has cleaned up as fungi/lichen that won't come off :(.

I noticed the other day that we must have had a deer in the garden as the tops of the tallest tulips had been nipped off . I don't think it could be rabbits as there is no damage to the stems at all and they couldn't get the flowers without pulling the stems down - and no sign of damaged leaves around the tulips where they would have to stand. I have built my own defences to further incursions and they seem to be working :yho:

    Have a great day :D

Oh Shiney send Mrs Shiney my way please....she can do all my hanging baskets! :D

Enjoy the day everyone, the sun is shining here, OH says it feels warm so my garden beckons. I feel there is soooo much to do out there. I did trim the privet hedge yesterday.

Morning everyone. The cat thinks it is finally time for a leisurely walk around the garden, rather than just a quick comfort dash. So summer must really be on the way. Have a good Sunday.

    Good morning everyone,

Another beautiful day out there that will allow us to get things done :thumb:. We have had a couple of disasters in the garden with a very large fuschia bush (6ft high and 4ft diameter) die over the winter and right next to it a ceanothus about the same size appears to be dead. Three weeks ago the ceanothus was in full leaf and covered in flower buds. Now, all the leaves and flowers are dry and brittle :(.

I've chopped down the fuschia (heavy duty loppers managed most of it but the stump will have to be removed in the winter) but left the ceanothus for the moment and given it a very heavy watering. If it has to go then it will need a saw taken to it.

The people collecting their plants yesterday took longer than we planned because Immigration Officer Oscar had to check that they were suitable people to be allowed in k-l and Customs Officer Oscar had to check every plant before it was taken out of the garden. :)

    Have a great day :gnthb:

    Evening friends :luv:

Good to see you pop in Marley. The more the merrier!
We went back to B and Q so I got a few more cheap plants. It turned out to be a pleasant day weatherwise- hopefully it will stay warm this week :)
Shiney we removed our huge ceonothus, it was a lovely sight in full bloom but it started to die off and looked unsightly.

You always have such uplifting posts Woo :) Yes another day, albeit a Monday :) It would appear though that most of management from work may be stuck in Monaco though as Gatwick air space has been closed down again! Should be a fairly quiet day at work then with no 'I need this report, this information right away' etc!

Looking like blue sky out there to start the day off right though - hope it lasts!

    Have a good one everybody!
