Good morning everyone, I hope those with ailments get some relief soon and those with family members with ailments, get welll soon. I can empathise with you all as my Anne is constantly poorly

We have only had light frosts all week and fairly mild days up here in Cumbria so I've managed a few afternoons in the garden getting some paving down, today I'm making another planter :lollol:

    Have a good day everyone!

    Steve...:)

    Good morning everyone,

Running a bit late this morning and then had a few posts to read before I logged on:D

I've decided I am chucking out my old bathroom scales {bought 1976} as I keep weighing myself every day and they have decided to stick at my recent weight loss, although Mr Kandy tells me off for weighing myself every day:pbut if my weight starts to go back up I want to nip it in the bud so to speak:DI shall go for manual ones as oppossed to those all singing and dancing ones that do everything and probably even measures the air that I breath:p

Mr Kandy is the only person I know who can go out to a restaurant for the evening, scoff loads of grub and then once back indoors starts eating chrips, chocolates etc,no wonder he is starting to look like he is expecting,:p and then moans that he finds it uncomfortable to bend down when he is gardening:D

Hope you all have a great day in all that you do:)

    Good morning everyone,

I wish all of you and your families a lot better :luv:

Kandy, Mrs shiney will be in touch with you about the cinnamon and your diabetes :thmb:. That savoury rice is probably not the best type of rice to have :( :ntwrth:. It is likely to have a fairly high GI as the rice is almost certain to be highly processed (unless it says it is brown rice) and the yellow is either colouring or tumeric. Tumeric is good for you but the white rice they use in most precooked rice products has a higher GI. If you can find a packet of flavoured brown rice it would be much better. Otherwise Tilda now do flavoured rice and they use basmati (white) rice. The best thing to do is make your own and, if you like, I can send you one of my recipes that is easy to do.

It is snowing heavily here but I don't think it will last long. I've just been out in the garden talking to Tracey and the strong wind is absolutely bitter. I'll wrap up warmer before I have to go out again later :)

    Have a great day :D

Good morning everybody - another mixture in the sky today of blue sky and clouds. Just coming back from dropping kids at school and there was an ever so light flurry of snow......but certainly nothing tremendous - just pretty :)

Steve sorry to hear about your Anne - and hope that there are some good days ahead.

Kandy have you ever thought about just weighing yourself a couple of times, or once per week? I know for me personally, I'd rather go with 'staying the same' over the course of a week, rather than losing a bit, putting on a bit etc. Just my way I guess that would make me feel better. I know my eating will get to me one day, and then I may think differently - but I don't own a pair of scales, and have been lucky (touch wood) to have basically stayed the same weight for the last 20 years or so. In terms of physical activity I don't really do much, except I guess playing outdoor games, walking and riding with the kids does count - but I must admit I enjoy the Wii fitness as we do it like a game as a family. I do however have the roaming eye for food, and I know I would find it really hard to say 'no' to something that I wanted to eat. I have no willpower :( So, my hat off to you for working away at it like you are.

Jazmine did Mat have his surgery yet or is he having it today? It will be a relief when it's all done and he's on his way back to good health.

I'm off to East Sussex today for work meetings, and hopefully have time to stop in at a local farmshop as I see them down there regularly but am in too much of a hurry most of the time. Rabbit stew sounding good for dinner if I can get some rabbit - hubby made a great one on the weekend and it was very moreish :)

Sorry Shiney - cross posted - keep warm! It is cool out there but hopefully warms up as the day goes on.

    Have a great day everybody.

Glad I popped in to see if you had updated! Glad to hear it Kath - now you can relax and just concentrate on him getting better so he can spoil you for all the worry you've been through :) Be nice to him when you visit and don't make him laugh......it would likely hurt! Glad you are feeling calmer today :thumb:
